Grocery store sales the week after a major holiday are usually pretty slim pickings if not non-existent, but here’s a few deals at King Soopers this week, December 26-30.
Broccoli Crowns $1/lb – about as low as you can get broccoli these days
Green Grapes $1/lb – a great price, particularly in what I think is the off-season
Avocados $1 each – lowest price unless you shop at an ethnic market or want to take a chance on WalMart’s produce :)
Kroger Frozen Orange Juice $1 each – great price, haven’t seen frozen juice concentrate go for less than $1 in a long time (especially orange juice)
Birds Eye Vegetables $2 – would just like to say that this is NOT a great price, I’d wait to buy until it goes for $1
80% Lean Ground Beef $1.99/lb – a good price for ground beef, but this is one of those 3 lb roll packages which my mother always told me is not. fresh.
Boneless Pork Chops 50% off – my goal is to get meat at least half-off, so this is a decent deal
Nabisco Snack Crackers $1.88 – I *think* there’s $1 off 2 coupons out there, so if you bought two they’d be $1.38 each. Not the best price ever, but better than WalMart
Kraft Cheese $2 each – again, not the best price ever, but it’s decent for name-brand cheese.
Well, there you have it. I chose my highlights based on the highly-technical price book I keep in my head, so they may or may not be great prices to you! :) If I didn’t mention something that’s in the ad it’s probably because I’ve seen it for a lower price. I’ll try to keep explaining more of my strategy as time goes on.
