Have you heard of Shortcuts.com? It’s a nationwide e-coupon program that works in conjuction with your local Kroger affiliate – in Colorado, we’ve got King Soopers stores. You sign up, enter your Soopercard number, and click to add coupons to your card. The discounts come off automatically when you swipe your card at checkout, and appear near the bottom of your receipt looking something like this:
“SCuts – PSTurkeyHam (Private Selection Turkey or Ham) – $3.00″
The best part about it is that they work in conjunction with paper coupons, so you can use a $2.00 off Huggies diapers Shortcuts coupon AND a paper coupon for $1.50 off Huggies diapers and you’ll get a total discount of $3.50! (Note that if you purchase multiple packages of Huggies only one Shortcuts coupon will be deducted.)
It’s pretty easy to use and I’ve been able to get some really great deals with these coupons. Occasionally, you’ll purchase an item that you’ve loaded an e-coupon to your card for and the e-coupon will not be deducted. In that case, here’s all you need to do to get your money back:
Login to Shortcuts.com and go to the Help section and click on Contact Us. From here you will need to enter your store card number and receipt ID number (the number next to the date and time on your receipt) and hit Submit. Then you will be able to select the coupons that are currently added to your card that didn’t come off at the store.
I’ve had coupons not be deducted multiple times and each time I’ve followed the above process – they’ve responded promptly via email and added “Shortcuts Cash” to my card, which basically just means that next time I make a purchase using the store card that’s linked to my Shortcuts account, the disputed coupon dollar value will be deducted from my total (no matter what I purchase). I don’t think there’s ever been a time that I purchased the correct product and they didn’t correct the error if it didn’t come off when it should have. It takes a minute or two to register the “dispute”, but for a dollar or more it’s worth it!
I did learn just this week that there is a limit to how much Shortcuts cash they will credit to your shopper’s card. I submitted a dispute for a coupon for $1 off Goody Ouchless accessories and it wasn’t deducted from my total at the store. They emailed me and said they applied $.25 in Shortcuts cash to my card but that I’ve reached the “limit” and the full $1 off wouldn’t be credited.
I’ve emailed them back asking if this “limit” will be reset and what exactly the limit is, since I’m leary of continuing to use the service if I can’t get my money back if it doesn’t work right. I haven’t heard from them but I’ll let you know if I do! I’m guessing that the limit is around $5, based on how many disputes I think I’ve submitted.
By the way, you can now add up to 50 Shortcuts coupons to your card, instead of the previous 20. This is good news since you can’t remove the coupons from your card to make room for new ones, you have to wait until they expire or until you use them in order to clear space.
There’s a great deal on Huggies going on at King Soopers this week that involves using a Shortcuts coupon – read more here!

And did you ever get an answer from SC on this so-called dispute limit, and if/when it will ever be re-set?
Asking, because I am sending letter/mails to to mfrs and retailers who pay SC. So far, my mail requesting further satisfaction from SC has gone ignored for a week … seriously ticking me off … thinking of taking it to the feds and see what THEY think of deceptive trade practices.
Jaws, I can’t remember for sure – don’t think I ever got an answer. I just stopped using them for the most part and started using their competitor, Cellfire, more.
