I’m so excited to announce that I’m teaching a Grocery Bargains Workshop on Saturday, March 7th at 10 AM and you’re invited!
During this two-hour class, I’ll be sharing a wealth of information on how to get the most out of your grocery budget . You’ll learn how to reduce your grocery spending by combining store sales with coupons to get name brand products for cheap or even free, stockpiling for maximum savings, understanding marketing gimmicks and learning not to fall for them, learning how to plan your meals around what’s on sale – and you’ll be free to ask questions all the questions you want!
You’ll also receive a handout with information on store coupon policies, my personal target price list, and many other tips on maximizing your grocery dollars. I guarantee it will be the most fun you’ve ever had learning about grocery shopping!
The workshop is $15 per person and will be held at the East Library (5550 North Union) in conference room two at 10 AM. You can easily and securely pay with PayPal online. Space is limited and registration is required, so please sign up now! You can email me at springsbargains@gmail.com if you have questions before registering.
Here’s a few anticipated questions:
Can I bring my kids? You’re welcome to bring your infant, but so that we have minimal distractions, please do not bring older children.
Can I bring a guest? Yes, absolutely, spread the word! You will need to submit a separate registration for each guest. If you want to pay for multiple registrations together, please just email me and I’ll send you one PayPal invoice instead of multiple ones.
What if I have to cancel? Can I get a refund? If you need to cancel for any reason, I’ll be happy to refund your registration fee minus a $5 cancellation fee.
Ready to register? Go here and complete the form!

Why would I pay for this class when this information is available for free? There are books on this topic and tons of websites too.
Not only all that, but since this is a local class taught by a local experienced person, it is the sort of thing that a book just can’t offer. A book can’t give you those super-specific tips that a person who is local to your community can give.
Carrie, I think it’s really cool that you’re doing this, and I wish you the best! I can’t make the class (ironically, I work at the library and I think I’m scheduled that weekend) but I know this could help a lot of people save far more than the workshop fee! Best to you!
Hi there! We are new to Colorado Springs and I was excited to find you blog! I think $15 sounds like a very reasonable price for your workshop! I am hoping to be able to sign up soon- I just have to make sure hubby doesn’t work that day. Thanks for offering this! :)
I live to far away and won’t be able to make it. Is there any provision for getting your information sent or emailed to me? I do live in CO (SE Aurora) but just to far for me to go to join in.
Hi Carrie,
Maggie asks a valid question and I think that you answered it very gracefully. I wish you the best. I too have ventured out to teach my very first class May 21st.
I was also asked the reason for charging a fee for the service by a reader.
I can’t wait to teach the class. Many of my friends who I have already helped just in passing have asked can they attend even though I am charging a fee and have shared the basics with them.
Is this your first class? If so I’d love to hear how it went. If not, any advice for me would be welcome.
I found your blog through Crystal @ MoneySavingMom
Congrats on your workshop… I too am starting to teach classes. Right now at my local church and library with hopes for bigger ventures.
Great way to answer the first question. I would have loved to have a local seasoned coupon user to help me when I started. Learned the ropes myself and now have a love for it!
Is this your first class? Need any help, let me know… can’t come and help, but here for support!
Have fun! :)
Maggie, if you’d pay for a book then paying for a class wouldn’t be any different! :) The purpose of the workshop is to take what would be hours of reading books and websites and condense it into one two-hour class that gives a simple plan for cutting your grocery budget. It’s mostly geared toward people new to bargain shopping. As I’ve taught workshops in the past, I’ve learned that even for some people that know how to “coupon”, the class can still be beneficial in helping you learn the mindset of bargain grocery shopping and lowering your food budget – there’s a lot more to saving on your grocery bill than just knowing how to clip coupons.
A class versus reading a book or website is also beneficial for people who are auditory and visual learners – I use lots of visual aids and since I want to make sure people actually understand what I’m saying, anyone is always welcome to ask a question about anything!
Andrea, I’m sorry, but my material is designed to be presented as a workshop so I can’t send you the files. However, if you think you would be able to coordinate a group of friends, I would potentially be able to come up to Aurora to do a workshop for a group. I’ll email you with more specifics.
The Proverbswife,
I’ve done several classes already, and have learned a LOT through teaching those! I’d love to help you in anyway, I can – feel free to email me if you have any specific questions and I’ll do my best to answer them.
Suz, this is my fourth class, but the first that’s been open to the community. (The previous ones were for my church and some friends.) We need to start a email list or something for us teachers to learn from each other. :)
