Earning money by taking surveys?

So you’re not going to get rich quickly – or even slowly – by taking online surveys, but it’s a easy way to earn a few extra bucks!   I’ve taken online surveys for two companies for around four years, and it’s been fun to earn a few extra bucks to blow on coffee or use on groceries.

I do online surveys for MySurvey.com and Pinecone Research.   By far my favorite is MySurvey.com – Pinecone Research pays cash ($3.00 per survey), but their surveys are longer and (in my opinion) require more effort than MySurvey.com.   With MySurvey.com, you earn points for doing surveys and when you’ve collected 1,000 points, you can trade it in for $10 or various prizes (but the best deal is just to get ten bucks cash).

Update: since the original publishing of this post, MySurvey has changed the way you redeem points and it now requires 1150 points to redeem a $10 check.

Surveys earn you anywhere from 5 to a few hundred points.   In addition to the checks I’ve gotten, I’ve also been able to test products like diapers, baby wipes, shampoo, and more, so that’s been an added bonus in addition to the money!   And if you’ve got children, you’re in pretty high demand for these survey companies, since they have lots of baby product surveys.

There are a lot of survey scams out there, so I would urge you to be very cautious before signing up with any survey company, but I feel 100% comfortable recommending MySurvey.com – I’ve had years of great experience with them and there are no hoops to jump through, just simple surveys that add up to earn you money!

Have you used MySurvey.com?   What did you think?

I’m so glad to see this post! I’ve been wanting to do surveys for a while but have never really know which sites to trust. It’s great getting a recommendation from someone who’s used it before. Thanks for the information!

  2. How often do you get rewards from them?

Bethany, you earn points for *every* survey you take, and how many you receive just depends – anywhere from few per week to a few per month.
