Ah, I don’t know about you, but I’m getting really excited about summer! So many things to do and see – not sure if we’ll get to do them all, but sometimes it’s fun to just think about doing them all.
Here’s another summertime freebie: the First and Main Shopping Center at Powers and N/S Carefree is putting on a free summer concert series on Fridays from June 5th through August 7th. The concerts will be held from 5 to 7 PM in front of the theatre. Here’s the lineup:
- June 5: Summer Spectacular 3-5pm, concert – Under A Blood Red Sky, (U2 Cover Band)
- June 12: Orquesta Sabroso (Latin/Salsa music)
- June 19: Latigo- Formerly Rockin Horse (Country Music)
- June 26: Otis Bump & The Riptides (High Energy Jazz)
- July 3: John Wise & Tribe (Zydeco/Blues)
- July 10: The Parable Sons with Accappella group Harmony In Motion during intermission
- July 17: George Whitesell & His Allstars Featuring Jill Watkins (Jump, Swing, Blues)
- July 31: The Wendy Woo (Alternative Rock)
- August 7: Final – Jake Loggins Band (Rock/Blues)
Thanks, Saving Coupons and Recipes!
PS – After I typed this up, the Gazette posted a huge list of free summer concerts at various venues around Colorado Springs!

Thanks for the link. I can’t wait for all the fun free events this summer too!
Is this a generally safe location for the whole family? A few concerts I’ve seen have had some violence around. Would this be better suited for adults only?
Mary, this is at a shopping center, so I think it would be for the whole family – haven’t been yet, so I can’t say for sure, but I was planning on going to a couple with the family!
