Safeway weekly deals: July 22-28

http://www.safeway.com/IFL/Grocery/Weekly-SpecialsLots of in-ad coupons at Safeway this week!   If you don’t get one in the Wednesday paper, you’ll need to pick one up in-store in order to use the coupons.   They usually have a display of ads near where the shopping carts are kept.   If they’re out, ask at customer service.

Keep in mind that Safeway’s in-ad coupons require a $20 minimum purchase, which is your total after all store discounts and in-ad coupons, but before manufacturer’s coupons.   The price of the item after an in-ad coupon counts toward your minimum purchase – ie, the $1.49 you spend after the in-ad coupon for Lucerne butter counts toward your $20 minimum.   Also know that you can use Safeway’s in-ad coupons in conjunction with manufacturer’s coupons!

And, Safeway continues to double coupons everywhere in Colorado, yahoo!

  • Fresh Express Garden Salads, Shreds, or Spinach $1 – Pretty regular sale price.
  • General Mills Honey Nut Cheerios or Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal $1.50 (limit 6) – Use $1/1 Honey Nut Cheerios printable to get for 50 ¢, stock up!
  • 2 Liter Pepsi 59 ¢ (limit 4) – Stock up!

Meat, Dairy, and Frozen:

  • 80% Lean Ground Beef $1.59/lb - Great price, I’d stock up!   Have seen it cheaper, but it’s been quite awhile.

  • Francesco Rinaldi Pasta Sauce 99 ¢ – Haven’t ever tried this brand, but it’s a pretty good price for it.
  • Nature Valley Granola Bars or Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks 4 for $6 with in-ad coupon – There are various coupons for both products that will double to $1/2 (including one at Coupons.com), bringing the cost to $1 each if you have two coupons.   An OK price for granola bars, but not for fruit snacks. Both should go on sale for cheaper during back-to-school sales.   There’s also a 50 ¢/1 at Coupons.com, which is only valid on select varieties, but if those varieties are included, it’s a good deal.
  • Motts Apple Juice 99 ¢ with in-ad coupon - Good price, might go cheaper.

  • Duracell Coppertop Batteries $2 off with in-ad coupon – Combine this with a 50 ¢/1 manufacturer’s coupon, and an e-coupon from P&G esaver and you’ve got a great deal!

Carrie, was there a recent change in Safeway’s coupon doubling? The last time I checked, the Falcon store did not double coupons….so I’ve just been going to the one on Powers and Constitution on my ‘town day’. Just wondering. (thanks!)
