Rebecca emailed me this morning and asked if I was aware that King Soopers price matched. Um, I had no idea! She said that on a whim last week, she asked the location on Hartsel (Woodmen/Lexington) if they’d price match the Pepsi price from Albies and they said yes! She just showed the ad to the cashier and they adjusted it for her.
Now I am super curious – has anyone else ever tried this? Have they ever price matched for you? Leave a comment if you know! It could be something that’s up to particular store managers (ie, I doubt if I email King Soopers corporate they’ll have any clue). If it’s true, it will seriously change the way I shop!

So curious about this! I called the store on Baptist Rd. in Monument and the manager said that they did not price match.
I called the one on Woodmen/Academy and they said no but one of the cashiers told me that if you have the ad and put the mngr on the spot they usually will match is but no bogo’s.
Hmm, must be new …. I shop at the Harstel Soopers & asked a while back & they said they didn’t price match … maybe it depends on the cashier & the day?
AB and Academy store doesn’t price match on pop – though that’s a rather big ticket type item, so not sure if it’s just because of the pop, or altogether.
Just to add to my description of the price match experience…I went in on 8/13/09 and checked out at 4:24 p.m. When I went in, I stopped at the customer service desk. 2 people were working there. I asked if they would price match something from the Albertson’s ad. I volunteered what it was, but they weren’t going to ask. They said as long as I could show the ad, they would match the price. Both were young people and no manager was brought into the conversation. I had the ad, showed it to the checker, and he gave me the price. I still have the receipt from the shopping trip. I’ll ask again next time I go in- just to test it out. I only asked KS because the Albertsons on Research and Union does not stock my Diet Mountain Dew. I NEED my Diet Mountain Dew.
So, I stopped in at KS on Hartsel last night & asked if they would match a competitors price if I had the printed ad. I was told that KS doesn’t price match, they only double coupons! I’m still guessing it’ll depend on the cashier & how many items you want price matched!
Just remember that Citymarket in Woodland Park, while it doesn’t price match, does accept coupons from Walgreens, Safeway and Walmart. This is really great for stacking the Safeway super coupons with a manufacturer coupon (and you can throw a Kroger coupon in if you have it). I’ve also had success using the Walgreens $5 off $20 coupons. So if you’re heading to the mountains on a weekend, don’t forget your coupon binder!
