Walgreens weekly deals: September 27-October 3

Wow, there is a lot going on at Walgreens this week! I learned that Colorado stores getting a smaller ad than the rest of the country, so I’ve done these deals looking at the ad we got here in Colorado Springs. Some of the other deals good at other stores may still be working at our stores, so if you want to test it out, check out Common Sense with Money’s post of the rest of the deals good at the stores that get the “bigger” ad.

First off, you may want to wait until Tuesday to do your Walgreens shopping – not only do they have a 15% military discount on Tuesdays, they’ve also released a coupon for $5 off your purchase of $25 or more, good this Tuesday and Wednesday only! Your total will need to be $25+ after all other coupons and discounts, but it could still make some pretty sweet buys if you do some of the Register Rewards deals!

Also, you can snag a free photobook from Walgreens when you become their fan on Facebook. The details on how to claim the photobook are yet to be completely released, but it sounds like you will have to pay for shipping.

Finally, there’s a new coupon booklet available in-store at Walgreens that you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for!

Comments

  1. Leah says:

The insert ad doesn’t work for the Robitussin, it excludes the 2 pack

  2. Kim N. says:

I just moved to the COS area from Denver. I used to shop WAGS all the time until one day they told me I could not use more than one RR at a time to purchase items. Has anyone had problems with this is Colo. Springs? I used to love to shop there and the deals were so good but I’m not sure I want to risk the RR not printing or not being able to use them!

  3. Jennifer H says:

I’m so sad my only Vaseline coupons expired on Sunday (9/27). I didn’t see any new ones in my Denver Post inserts. Were there new ones in the Gazette?

  4. Tacy says:

The WAGS at Circle and Galley let me do multiple RR and so does the one at Murray and Platte. But NOT the one at Constitution and Powers. Go figure!

  5. Candy says:

The RR works the same way a coupon does. You just have to make sure that you have the same number of coupons/RR as items.

There is a coupon posted on the Vaseline website.

  6. Cheryl says:

I was told that I can’t use manufacturer’s coupons in the same transaction as a RR. Is this true of all Walgreens?

  7. Christina says:

I bought the Dawn 3 of them and used 2 manu coupons but the cashier said I could not do that and he said (per him) you already used our coupon you can’t use another and I explained yes and this is the manufacture coupon. He called over a mngr and he said yes as long as it is a walgreens and a manu she can. I did by the Pampers and I had a $2 off coupons so I bought 2 pkgs for $8 each and I also bought the Thermacare backwarmers for my husband along with the $2 off coupon and the Crest Mouthwash and I had two $1. off coupons. It came to 42 and change and after coupons and the $5 off when spending 25 or more I paid 20. and some change. My hubby was shocked!
Oh I went to the one on Academy and I forgot the cross street by Mc Donalds.
    Christina

  8. Amanda says:

I went in today (there was a printable coupon for $5 a $25 dollar purchase. Almost all of their “free after register rewards” items were out of stock. It was pretty frustrating because that was what I was planning to buy to get up to $25. I guess if you want the deals at Walgreens you have to shop early in the week.

  9. Liz says:

Having rarely shopped at Walgreens & not fully understanding RR, if I were to purchase 2 packs of diapers, the Robitussin & the chapstick, would I get all the RR printed in the same transaction, or would I need separate transactions? Thanks for your help.

  10. Carrie says:

Whoops, thanks Leah! I fixed the post.

  11. Carrie says:

Cheryl, that’s not true, but lots of different stores like to make up their own policies. What may have happened is that you had more coupons than items – Walgreens DOES allow you to combine a store coupon with a manu coupon, but you have to have the same number of items as coupons. So, if you want to use a store coupon AND a manu coupon for Dawn dish soap, you’ll need to buy a second item (can be anything in the store) to “cover” that second coupon.

  12. Carrie says:

Liz, yes, *as long as* they are separate promotions and you only try to do one of the same RR promotion per transaction. IE, you can’t buy multiple chapsticks in one transaction and get multiple register rewards.
