The kids and I ate a free lunch at Ted’s Montana Grill yesterday. OK, so it’s wasn’t free since I bought a drink and left a nice tip, but close enough. Want to eat a lunch for free, too? You just need to answer a trivia question correctly, and they’ll email you a coupon for a free Eat Great for $8 lunch (takes about a week)!
I’ve done it twice and somehow got the right answer twice. Pretty sweet deal! The Ted’s in Colorado Springs is located at the Shops at Briargate.
Mini review: We had the mini-burgers and fries and they were very yummy. Loved the fresh-cut fries and the beef burger was amazing (though the bison burger was a little dry). Ted’s is a super-duper green restaurant, which is not my thing at all, but if it’s theirs, so be it.
However. They have these “earth-friendly” straws that are absolutely dreadful. They’re made out of cardboard and seriously feel as if you’re sticking a tongue depressor in your mouth. I’m left wondering why they don’t use straws made out of corn like I’ve seen other places – after all, their to-go cups were made out of corn!
Anyway, just a fair warning to be very disappointed in their straws, but enjoy your free food!
Oh yeah, and if you want to eat at Ted’s for dinner, you can buy a $25 gift certificate for $4 at Restaurant.com when you use coupon code SWEET through 10/19.

What's wrong with being green?? I agree with you about the straws, however!
Oh my gosh, LOL, on the straws. The tongue depresser says it all, I've never been able to pinpoint “that taste” but that's it! I am sooo with you on that. We eat there at lunch for work sometimes and I always warn “guests” about the straws. They usually say “oh, they can't be that bad”, then they give it a whirl and 99% of the time yank them out.
Haha… It took me awhile to figure out what exactly they taste like. I thought about it for a LONG time and finally figured it out. :)
I just went there and the question is actually from the Food Network they have been showing out of the place places to eat and that is how I knew about the Hamburger they were referring to. I love the food network.
Yeah, hate those straws. Whole Foods uses them too, but fortunately plastic straws are still an option there. There are better ways of being “green” than forcing those horrible things on the customers! :)
I agree, find a better way to be “green”. :) It totally ruined my drink experience. Ted's, are you listening?! ;)
Fine print on the Ted's $25 gift certificate reads: Must spend $50 in food including two entrees.
Carrie-Thank you for the info about the free lunch contest! I answered the question correct also, can't wait to try it out!
heys, do you know if by any chance they allow you to use two coupons in one sitting (one $8 per person ) or is it only one coupon for one table? thanks~!
babybrains, I honestly can’t remember. Maybe someone else can!
@babybrains – yes you can. i didn’t feel like going by myself the other day, so i used 2 of my free lunch coupons and brought a co-worker. they took both coupons and he covered the tip ;-).
