Safeway weekly deals: November 18-26

Thanksgiving deals at Safewayy

Ack, I’m just not liking these whole “flat rates” on turkeys – anyone else share the same sentiment?  Takes me forever to look at every single turkey to make sure I’m getting the best deal. ;)

Hi! I also saw King’s Hawaiian rolls- There is a 2 for 3.00 in-ad coupon (Fall Flyer insert, I live in Falcon and there are a TON of these ad’s left by the regular ad’s) and there is was also a 1.00/2 insert coupon (From one of the Sunday coupon inserts, sorry not sure which one)

Making them a grand total of 2 for 2.00 for King’s Hawaiian rolls!

  2. Sarah H says:

Aaah, I still need to get to the Home for the Holiday’s sale. So much stuff I want to buy, and so little time to shop!

  3. Stephanie says:

I just got back from the Safeway on Powers to pick up a few of the deals. I was told they will only accept 1 internet printable coupon now because they have been given too many fradulent coupons. :( Insert coupons are still unlimited. Has anyone else been told this? I still got some good deals but I ended up returning a couple of things because of it.

Carrie, you only give the Ghiradelli baking chips a 4? Do you think they will go lower or have you seen them lower before? They are my fav!! I eat them straight out of the bag. :D Last year Walmart had them for $2/bag around the holidays however this year (at least the last time I was there) they had them at $2.50. I’m hoping for a rollback or a better price elsewhere. I did pick up my 6 bags at Safeway, however as I just mentioned they would only take 1 coupon, so it worked out to $1.72/bag.

    • Carrie says:

Hey, Stephanie, if you need chocolate, then by all means stock up! ;) I’m thinking they may go a little lower in December, but honestly it’s hard to say because they don’t go on sale often.

      • Stephanie says:

Thanks for the reply Carrie! I will keep my eye out for them going cheaper. Very sad to say that even the 6 bags probably won’t last me that long!

  4. Hannah says:

How do the cellfire coupons work? Is it only once per transaction or only once? If I bought diapers today & used it, could I got back again tomorrow & use it again?

  5. Angela says:

GRRR! I just spent an hour and a half at Safeway trying to collect enough items to get the $5 Catalina savings. I was juggling a fussy baby and trying to calculate my purchases. To my dismay, I was $3 short of $25, so after all of my trouble, I didn’t get the $5 catalina coupon. What a nightmare! To the lady behind me…I am SO sorry. I even prepped my coupons and shopping list before I went to the store. I have got to figure out a better system (like finding someone to watch my baby!).

  6. Lee says:

Did anyone notice the C&H sugar printable coupon states: “Limit 1 copon to a customer”? I’ve never seen that stipulation on any other printable coupon before. On the same page I also printed a Pillsbury cookie mix coupon, and it said “Limit one cuopon per purchase”. That’s the standard verbage on most of the other printable coupons I’ve used. I probably won’t use the C&H coupon because I already encountered an issue at my supermarket earlier this week. I had four I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter printable coupons, and the clerk refused to take them all until she checked with the manager. Fortunately, the manager informed her it was okay to accept all of them. I don’t want to raise any more red flags by using this C&H coupon that had that unusual limit. Any thoughts?

    • Carrie says:

Lee, there’s a small percentage of coupons that say “limit 1 per customer”. If that’s the case, then I definitely would only use one, sine that’s clearly what the verbage intends.

Safeway is fickle about printable coupons in general – you never know what they’re going to pull out of their hat! I personally usually just use one of a kind at once and use insert coupons for the rest if I’m able.

A couple of people have said the Safeway at Const and Powers is saying only one printable coupon of ANY type per transaction. That seems crazy, so we’ll see how long they stick to it.

  7. Lee says:

Carrie, thank you for your advice, which just reminded me that I DO have two insert coupons for I Can’t It’s Not Butter sticks. I will use them along with a couple of printable ICINB stick coupons for my next Home for the Holidays transaction. If I get any trouble from the clerk, I also have a couple of 50 cents/1 insert coupons for ICINB products. Not as much of a saving, but still a GREAT deal, especially considering it’s a double dip for both the Home for the Holiday promo and Catalinas. Wish me luck!
