Don’t forget about Safeway’s free item coupons – a different one is available every day until Christmas. If you didn’t get the Sunday flyer with these coupons, you can get a flyer in the store, or print them here.
There’s also a small Starbucks special advertised in the ad: buy any Starbucks holiday gift bag or 1 lb of Christmas blend coffee and get a free Grande beverage. This is for Starbucks inside Safeway stores only.
One more note: several of you have reported that Safeway isn’t accepting more than one printable of any type per transaction. It may be a good idea to either have a backup plan, be OK with not using a coupon, or just plan your trip to Safeway to use only one printable.

The rating for the Johnsonville, is that based on the Johnsonville brand price or usual sausage price? We do love sausage, but I *think* that we have paid 1$ for Hillshire over the summer… maybe it was 1.50…
Well, Johnsonville sausage is “fresh” sausage, not smoked, so it’s in a different category than Hillshire Farms. Plus, ratings are going to fluctuate somewhat according to season – this isn’t the season for sausage, so it’s a great price for out-of-season.
Ok I see. Thanks Carrie!
I will definitely be picking up some All detergent. The free and clear is the only kind my hubby can use. Looks like I’ll get some ham and some Cornflakes as well. I love Cornflakes with chopped up bananas.
In regards to printable coupon acceptance, I posted my experience regarding being told only one printable of each type could be used per transaction on Safeways Facebook page. I received the following response:
“Safeway We apologize for any inconvenience that you may have encountered. Our Coupon Policy allows customers to redeem one manufacturer coupon per purchased item. Please contact us at 1-877-723-3929 for further assistance. One of our Associates would be more than happy to assist you. Thank you for your patience and for shopping with us at Safeway. Have a wonderful day!”
Given the corporate response I am not sure what is going on. But, thought I would share.
I went to Safeway Wed, and had no problem with using more than one of the same printable – HOWEVER I have found that different checkers have their own policies so I always go to the same gal if I can help it. It’s been worth getting in the slightly longer line.
Also while I was there I noticed that Kelloggs Special K was on sale too for $1.99/box when you bought 5 including the flavors. These matched up with printable coupons so I was able to get them for $0.99 each. Check the boxes too – I was able to find ones that had a free bag of Ocean Spray dried Cranberries in them and a coupon for them in the box:)
If I buy 4 kelloggs corn flakes using 4 coupons, can I also use the coupon for “Save $1.50 on your favorite store brand coffee when you purchase any 3 kelloggs cereals” from the kelloggs website? I would think that would make some decent priced coffee to go with my free cereal.
Boy do I wish I had more than one All coupon. I need more laundry detergetnt!
Well…. that depends on who you ask. I personally say no, that it’s illegal coupon stacking. King Soopers’ official policy prohibits this, and the commissary does as well. However, I don’t know if Safeway has a policy on it, and just about everyone else says it’s fine. I personally could never endorse it or tell someone to do it, though. :)
Thanks! I’m glad I asked.
I couldn’t find the clementines and asked about them and they brought out what they said was their last box in stock for that day (I assume?), but they were Sunkist brand. I told the cashier I was confused and saw the Cuties brand on sale in the paper and that’s what my coupon was for, etc. She said no big deal and just used it and did an override.
Just an FYI – I just got back from the Safeway on Carefree and Powers and they had one kind of Method hand soap (waterflower) priced at $1.84 – so if you still have your $2 off coupons, that means free Method hand soap!
They told me they were getting more clementines tomorrow. I was able to get a rain check just in case I wasn’t able to make it back before the sale ended. Corn Pops are also included in the $1.49 sale, so I was able to use the coupons that are only for Corn Pops & Frosted Flakes. Frosted Flakes were not on sale. :( Wow! I got 16 boxes of cereal for around $13!!!!!
Where’s the cuties coupon? I couldn’t find it on the site. Thanks in advance!
Julie, I believe you have to register for the newsletter.
Does anyone know if you have to buy all corn flakes or all fruit loops to get the special price? Or is it kind of like a mix and match sale? I would love to just get 2 boxes of cornflakes, and then 1 each of the fruit loops/apple jacks.
Mix and match away Amanda! The ones you listed are part of the same grouping. I did this successfully with 20 boxes on Wed.
I just got back from Safeway. I got my free sausages with the coupon today, yeah! But they were all out of corn flakes, and I forgot to ask for a rain check. Boo hoo.
I did notice 2 things. They have Nabisco snack crackers on sale 2/$4, buy 5 save $5. Which makes them $1. That’s a better deal than at Albies this week.
Also, on the Starbucks thing. The ad says buy any Starbucks holiday gift BAG or one pound of Christmas blend coffee and enjoy a complimentary Grande beverage. You said gift CARD in your post. Does anyone know if this works with a gift card too? I need to buy a Starbucks gift card, and would love to have a free coffee to go with it.
Sarah, thanks for pointing out the STarbucks thing – I mistyped and put gift card when I meant to say gift bag. Sorry, I fixed it!
Don’t forget the $10 Kraft mail-in rebate on Nabisco crackers. You need to purchase 10 qualifying items to get the rebate.
I remember the rebate, thanks. I did only buy 5 though, because I had only one $1/1 and also used 2 $1/2 coupons. I didn’t have the time to figure out whether it would be a better deal to 1. buy 6 more, using 3 $1/2 coupons, but not getting that $1 discount on the last one for the buy 5, save $5 or 2. buy 5 more, using 2 $1/2 coupons and having the last one just be $1 with no coupon.
Has anyone figured that out?
Your option #2 would save you $1 out of pocket.
Option #1 is a total of $7 out of pocket.
Option #2 is a total of $6 out of pocket.
(This is based on Sarah H’s transaction and coupon combination…this varies if you buy all 10 boxes at once and if you have other coupon combinations). I keep talking about these crackers —- I think it is about time I go try this deal myself. We can always use crackers.
Woohoo, thanks for the math, Gwen! :) My brain is too fuzzy to help with math requests today. ;)
By the way, at this point, I would say that we *probably* won’t be getting any more cracker sales this year. They usually stop after new year’s, so even if you’re out of coupons and have already done the rebate, $1 per box is probably better than we’ll get for quite awhile.
So, with the rebate wouldn’t it be a money maker of $3 or $4?
Thanks, Gwen. My brain is also too fuzzy to deal with the math right now. I will have to go back to make sure to get the last 5 for my rebate.
My son just opened the box of Wheat Thins Fiber Select Garden Vegetable crackers that I got, and they are quite tasty. Even my son, who doesn’t like anything too closely resembling a vegetable, likes them.
Thanks for the update on FREE method hand soap.
