We’re thinking about selling our house and are considering finishing our basement. We received a quote for $27,000 to do the job, and I’m wondering if it will add enough value to our house to justify doing it. It would add a bedroom, bathroom, living area, and about 1200 finished square feet to our 3 bedroom, 2 bath, ranch style house.
Do you think we will turn a profit on the money we spend to finish it, or are we just hoping to break even? Or is there a risk that we could even lose the money?

Tinseltown toy clearance was still mostly 30% but had a few on 50%.
They had Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse and High School Musical Nexcare Bandaids on clearance for .97 and I had a Smartsource printable coupon for $1/2.
Also used the $1.50 GE lighting coupon on appliance light bulb marked $1.29 so they were free.
I bought a game at the Target North for my daughter’s didj leapster game system for $7.48 down from $29.99. There were at least 10 more of the same game. I plan to check back on Sunday or Monday. I thought it was a great price since her birthday is in less than 2 weeks.
Winter coats are a great price at the Target on Powers/Carefree. They were $39.99 and I paid $8.74 yesteday. We did actually go to a couple different Targets and each store had different markdowns everywhere else the least expensive was still $19.99. We also picked up an Imaginext super value set that was originally $32.99 and I paid $6.48. They had a really good deal on smart cycles if you’re in the market for one of those!
Target on Powers/Carefree has a bunch of toys for 50% off. The signs all said 30% put they were all marked down 50%. Seems like they had more stuff for girls than boys but still a pretty good collection. I bought 7 things to stock up for birthday’s during the year.
