Another instant savings event at King Soopers this week

Man, you guys – I thought I’d get a break from the awesome deals at King Soopers, but they’re back with another instant savings event.

Here’s your deals for this week!

Meat, Dairy, and Frozen

USDA Choice Boneless New York Strip Steak $5.99/lb
Rating: 4 – boneless doesn’t go for less too often

USDA Choice Boneless Chuck Roast or Steak $2.99/lb
Rating: 2-3 – I personally wait until it hits $2/lb or less to buy

80% Lean Ground Beef (1 or 3 lb package) $1.79/lb
Rating: 4

Foster Farms Natural Chicken Drumsticks or Thighs 99¢/lb
Rating: 3 – this is about as low as this brand goes if you’re brand loyal.

Lobster Tails (4 oz) $4.99
Rating: 3-4 – for comparison, 4-5 oz tails are $4.97 at Sunflower and 2-3 oz tails are $2.50 at Albertsons.

Hormel Little Sizzlers (10-12 oz) $1
Rating: 4

Armour Lunchmakers $1
Rating: 3.5

Produce

Asparagus $1.39/lb
Rating: 5

ORGANIC Braeburn Apples 99¢/lb
Rating: 5

Stoplight Bell Peppers (3 ct) $2.99
Rating: 2-3 – these average to $1 each, which is a decent price for red and yellow, but not for green, so overall, I’d say this isn’t really a good value.

General Grocery and Household

Skippy Peanut Butter $1.88
Use 60¢/1 insert coupon
Net cost at checkout: 88¢
Rating: 4 – this sale lasts for a couple more months, btw. No rush!

Ocean Spray Juice Cocktail (64 oz) $1.98
Rating: 3

Bertolli Olive Oil (17 oz) $4.99
Rating: 2-3 – nowhere near the price-per-ounce we often get on sale at Sunflower Market, but if you’re brand-loyal this is a decent price.

Colgate Total Toothpaste $1.67
Use 50¢/1 insert coupon
Net cost at checkout: 67¢
Rating: 5

Buy 10 Save $3 Daytona 500 Savings Event

This deal works similarly to last week’s Mega Event, except this time it’s buy 10 items save $3 instantly. You can do it as many times are you want per transaction, just make sure you buy in multiples of ten.

A few good deals, but not nearly as many as there have been at previous sales like this!  Many of these items are kind of “out of season”, and we’ll see better prices on things like drink mixes, hotdogs, and condiments as summer gets closer.  There may be more deals in the store, so keep your eyes peeled for the special tags!

Prices below reflect instant savings for purchasing 10 items.

Gatorade Sports Drink (32 oz) 69¢
Rating: 4

Kraft Barbecue Sauce 69¢
Rating: 4

Kroger Salad Dressing 94¢
Rating: 4 – wouldn’t stock up *too* much on this, we can often get Kraft for this price or less in the summer

Pillsbury Grands Biscuits 99¢, plus earn a $4 catalina when you buy 6
Buy six and use three 30¢/2 insert coupons or printables from Coupons.com
Net cost at checkout: $4.14 total (69¢ each), plus earn a $4 coupon to use on your next order!
Rating: 5

Betty Crocker Supreme Brownie Mix $1.69
Use 75¢/2 insert coupons or printables from Coupons.com
Net cost at checkout: $1.19
Rating: 2-3, maybe a little higher if you are brand-loyal.

Campbell’s Chunky Soup $1.29
Use $1.50/3 printable
Net cost at checkout: 79¢ each
Rating: 5

Banquet Dinners or Brown N Serve 70¢
Use $1/10 insert coupon (dinners only)
Net cost at checkout: 60¢
Rating: 5 – would probably still give the Brown N Serve a 4-5 rating even though there aren’t coupons out.

Chef Boyardee Pasta or Microwave Cups (7.5-15 oz) 70¢
Use 40¢/1 or $1/5 insert coupons
Net cost at checkout: FREE to 50¢
Rating: 5

Fritos or Frito Lay Canned Dips $1.69
Rating: 3

Country Time Lemonade, Tang or Kool-Aid Drink Mix $1.99
Rating: 2 – I’d wait for summer; these will go much cheaper. They were a moneymaker last summer, in fact!

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (5 pack) $2.69
Rating: 4-5 – works out to 54¢ per box, a great deal.

Breyers Ice Cream or Klondike Novelties $2.48
Rating: 3 – cheaper at Albertsons

Purex Fabric Softener $3.29
Rating: 2 – Andrea said laundry detergent may also be included in this sale, and there may be a catalina deal to go along with it, too.  Haven’t confirmed that it’s working here, though.

  1. tina says:

In the back of some specially marked Banquet dinner boxes (those marked save $6.00 with coupons inside) there is a coupon for 35 cents off ONE BANQUET BROWN N’ SERVE, making the sausages FREE after doubling and savings event.

  2. Tresa F says:

Are the prices you listed on the mega event, before or after the $3 rebate?

  3. Jennifer P says:

I thought I saw Hershey’s brownie mix in the mega event, you can load either cellfire of shortcuts for those too onto you KS card.

  4. Melissa L says:

The Purex catalina is working. Wishing we got the cheaper price for them though. ugh!

  5. Melissa L says:

It isn’t on the softner just the detergent. Just heads up! It is $3.82 after instant savings.

  6. Sarah H says:

Wow, another big King Soopers week. The last 2 weeks wore me out. I was hoping for a slow week this week. Maybe next week.

  7. Mary says:

I’ve had issues getting the Pillsbury deal. 3 different trips getting what was required and I’ve yet to receive anything from the Catalina except *another* advertisement that they are doing the promo. The cashier looks befuddled and the kids were crying so I didn’t press one that day and another time, the manager was “unavailable”. I saved receipts but who knows what they’ll do…

    • Carrie says:

Have you tried calling the Catalina company? 1.8888COUPON. Give them the offer number (I listed it on the catalina post that’s linked to in this post) and your receipt info and they should be able to help you.

      • Christina says:

Mary I had that issue as well and they said to bring it back in they as far as they know can only print so many a day. The other thing I asked was about coupons I forgot an envelope of these I must use coupons he said bring them in with your receipt and I will fix it for you. I have had 2 KS tell me that. The one on Woodmen and Academy and the one further down on Woodmen and lexington I think.

  8. Christina says:

Carrie on the Gatorade you gave it a 4 I thought was .66 was a great price?

    • Carrie says:

It’s a good price, but I wouldn’t buy a 6 month supply or anything – we can get it that low probably every 3 months or so, so I’d say it’s a “stock up” price, but not a “major stock up” price.

  9. Kerrie says:

The re-usable grocery bags are only 50 Cents right now. It would only take 10 grocery trips (of 5 cents a bag credit) to pay for a few.
