Yay! Thanks for doing this for us!!! You are a blessing….hoping to go get some of these great deals this week.
Has anyone used the Purex 3 in 1? I have heard mixed reviews….
Jennifer – I just finished a container of the Purex 3 in 1 and I’m very happy it’s finally gone!
After using a few of the 3 in 1 sheets I started adding a regular dryer sheet to the load of laundry because the 3 in 1 left me with a lot of static electricity!
I was not impressed.
Thanks for the opinion, Kathy! I was curious, too. Think I’ll just wait to see if we get a sale on the “regular” Purex on Wednesday and if not, I may just go to Walmart or something and buy the regular stuff with the coupon.
Kathy….thanks for the response, I think I will NOT try them.
As long as we’re talking laundry detergent….
The best deal I’ve found (not including great sales combined with coupons) is the powdered Purex at Walmart. It’s around $4 for a big box. The box says something like 30 loads, but I kept track once and I got over 70 loads out of the box.
Whoa, 70 loads instead of 30?! Were your clothes clean?! Just kidding. ;)
I swear most people could cut their laundry detergent in half by only using the recommended amount. At least on the brands I buy (All, Purex mainly), the “recommended” line for a full load is only halfway up the cap – NOT all the way to the top like most people fill it!
Of course, the manufacturer doesn’t make the recommended line terribly clear since they don’t mind you using more, but I’ve always thought it was funny that even a lot of us cheapskates are using way more detergent than even the manufacturer recommends!
I may have to check out the powdered Purex if I have to use my coupon without *gasp* a sale. :) Normally I’d let the coupon expire and just not use it, but if I can get a bottle or box for under $3, I’ll probably use it even without a sale.
Hee! Yes, the clothes were clean. :)
Keep in mind that most of my laundry is my work clothes and I work in an office so my clothes don’t get that dirty.
Still, I think most people (unless they’re literal ditch diggers) can get more than 30 loads out of that box of Purex.
Kathy – is that Purex marked for the HE front load washers?
Michelle – I don’t know if it is and I don’t have a box of it around to check.
Carrie – I don’t know if you have any control over this, but the “reply” button under Michelle’s post gave me an error when I tried to use it.
I went to the Walgreens on Austin Bluffs and Rangewood and Purex laundry detergent 50 ounce bottles were buy-one, get one free. I also had a buy one, get one free coupon (I think it was from last week’s newspaper?) which I combined with this sale to get two bottles for free!
Yay! I’ve heard this deal was going on but hadn’t heard if it was here locally. Thanks for the update, Sam!
So how does that work to get the soap for free? I need more detergent, but didn’t realise that a BOGO instore could be combined with BOGO coupon – how does it ring up in WAGS? Thanks!
I had to get the manager involved because at first, they wanted to give me 2 for $3 since it was ringing up in the register as 2 for $5.99 instead of buy one-get one. But then the manager adjusted this for me when I mentioned that the sale said buy one, get one free. She didn’t have a problem with it but I have had issues in the past at Walgreens trying to do these types of sales.
The two stores I went to had the Benadryl for $4.49, buy 2, get $5 RR. I had some $4/2 coupons from that Safeway booklet awhile back that also had those great huggies coupons. Sooo… FREE Benadryl after RR.
Also, the Kleenex is B1G1 free ($2.19), buy 6 and you get a $3RR. I had $.50/3 printables and inserts, so final price is $.43 each!! I bought the 200 count boxes for the best deal.
Walgreens sandwich bags, multiple sizes are $.99 with the in ad coupon. (limit 3) Great filler items. Altoids are $.59. (limit 6? I think.)
Nyquil & Dayquil are $5, spend $20 get a $10RR. There are $2/1 and $1.50/1 coupons from the paper and also Buy 2 Nyquil/Dayquil get free PUFFS. Works out to $2-$4 for four bottles & two boxes of tissue.
I also did the One A Day vitamins $6.99 each and Earn a $3 RR WYB2. I used $2/1 inserts making it $3.49 each.
Walgreens has started emailing me a link to their upcoming flier a few days before it starts. This is sooo helpful with the smaller ad here. I went to their site and don’t see the preview, I had to click through my email to get back to it.
This upcoming Sunday the Garnier Fructis is on sale for $2.49 with the in ad coupon, limit 3. There are new $1/1 in the 3/7 RP making them $1.49. Not as good as the last deal but wanted to share in case anyone needed it.
Select Colgate toothpastes will be $3.99 with a $3.99 register reward. There were coupons for $1/1 in the 3/7 SS making this a money maker.
Ooh, seriously?! I would love to get ahold of the short ad a few days earlier – would totally help me get Walgreens deals out. Any idea how you got on the list? Would you be willing to forward me your email so I can see if I can figure out how to sign up? springsbargains@gmail.com
