Sunflower Market: first great strawberry sale of the season!

Wow – my family may be able to afford eating organics this week with the organic produce prices at Sunflower Market!  We’ll definitely be eating a lot of (non-organic) strawberries… hard to resist them at the first of the season.

Buy One Get One Free Roast Sale
Rating: 3 – not sure of their original prices on roasts, but it seems like last time B1G1 Free made most of them about $2.50/lb, which is a pretty average price.  I would maybe buy it at this price, but wouldn’t stock up unless it hit $2/lb or less.

Net cost at checkout: 50¢ to $1

Will you be heading to Sunflower Market this week?

“Decent” price on Kerrygold butter if you are brand loyal……… usually runs $4.99, Safeway had it on sale last week for $4.50 – on sale for $3.99 this week at Sunflower……. don’t know if anyone else might have a better sale this week then that. Wish that 2/$5 sale would come back around on it! Sunflower and Whole Foods have done it.

They also have Emerg-C for $7.99 – I think that is cheaper then Walmart’s but I am not sure – anyone else know?

  2. Audrey says:

The strawberries left a lot to be desired. All of the cartons had a significant number of berries that were still white. I didn’t buy any because I knew I would be disappointed. It will be nice when all the stores have them and we can be picky.

  3. Sarah H says:

I haven’t been to Sunflower Market yet. I was thinking of trying to make it there this week for the strawberries, but if they’re not good quality, maybe not.

  4. Debby says:

Bummer about the strawberries! The Driscoll ones from Kings last week were SO delicious! I couldn’t believe how big and ripe and yummy they were for this time of year.

$7.99 on Emergen-C is cheaper than Walmart last time I checked, but thanks to Carrie I don’t go there very often anymore! :)

  5. Liz says:

I went to Sunflower this morning & was not impressed by the Strawberries. At a guess, over 1/2 the containers had some molding berries. Good thing I wasn’t there specifically for berries! I go to Sunflower every other Wed., that way I get the deals from both weeks & save multiple trips to the store!
