Here’s your Albertsons deals this week. It doesn’t appear from their ad that they are doubling coupons this week. Make sure to check out their entire ad, there are some items that are on sale for decent prices if you need it. And, remember that just because they have an in-ad coupon for it does not make it a good deal.
One more thing – speaking of in-ad coupons, they may or may not allow you to combine in-ad coupons and manufacturer’s coupons, so keep that in mind.

Rating: 3.5-4 – my toilet paper prices are kind of fickle, they’re hard to track because of all the different size rolls, but I would aim to pay 25¢ per single roll of TP and around $0.50 per roll for paper towels, I think.

I went this morning and got the strawberries. They are really big and look yummy! But it is such a big container I am going to make some freezer jam with some of them. I have not done it before but the recipe looked easy enough. Here is a link to the recipe I am going to use:
http://www.ourbestbites.com/2010/03/strawberry-freezer-jam.html.
Also, if you printed out the McCormick $1/1 coupon, the had Montreal Steak Seasoning for $1.99 on the shelf although it rang up for $1.50. So that made it .50 after the coupon.
Lynne, I make strawberry freezer jam every year (I make enough to last us through the following winter, on average I’d say we eat one pint a month). I always use the Certo liquid pectin (Walmart is the cheapest place I’ve found) and make the recipe on the packet in the box. It’s super simple. Very similar to the recipe you linked, just without water. My family prefers the freezer jam over canned, because it tastes like fresh strawberries, rather than cooked. Good Luck! Once you’ve tried homemade, you’ll never go back to store bought!
Thanks for the tips. I made it tonight and it was quite easy. I am anxious to see what it tasteds like. Hubby has now added a plan to plant strawberries in the garden so we can make more.
I was just at the Albertsons on Dublin & Austin Bluffs, and they allowed me to combine the in-ad coupons and manufacturer’s coupons. If you’re playing the Monopoly promotion (fun if you make sure to only buy the discounted items) you get a Monopoly ticket for each Yopliat Yogurt.
Thanks! You’re right the Monopoly game can be fun to play, if you make sure to only buy the good bargains.
I have a question. You have chicken breasts at Albertson’s marked as a rating of 3 for $1.77/lb. What price do you consider worth a rating of 5 and where have you ever seen that price?
Alyce, I’d consider $1.30/lb or less a 5. It doesn’t come around terribly often (usually Albertsons or Rancho Liborio when it does). You can get chicken breasts for $1.66-1.99 at some store almost *every* week, and each individual store runs this sale about once a month. So, in my opinion, it’s a price I’d buy at, but no need to stock up.
Even if you don’t play the monopoly game, still get the tickets and look at the coupons. I have had several $1.00 off a gallon of milk as well as free pasta, free pasta sauce, free crystal light on-the-go,free x 2 1/2 gallons of sherbet and more from the instant win coupons!
Wow! You have lucked out with the free stuff. I have only gotten free coupons from the Monopoly game for stuff we don’t really want. I still use them, because, hey, they’re free, but a milk coupon, that would be awesome!
I’ve been playing the Monopoly game and last week won the $10.00!!! It’s not the $500,000 mortgage, but hey I’ll take it!
Kathy..that’s awesome! We also have been playing…we’d love to win anything!!
I was at the Dublin/Austin Bluffs today and the strawberries are not that great of quality. You’d pretty much have to eat them all immediately or find something to make…
Not sure if this is post-worthy, but I bought the M&Ms (with the newspaper coupon – $1.99 each) for our homemade cookies at Albertson’s because they were cheaper per oz than what you can get at Sam’s. I haven’t found many other deals on M&Ms lately and missed the after Easter candy sales.
Question: Do you know if our Albertsons are participating in the Baby Event? Fabulessly Frugal has it posted on her site but I haven’t seen anything from you on it. I don’t usually have the best experience at Albertsons so I only go if you have posted a really great deal and tried it. (smile) I love your site! Thank you.

I *doubt* it – can’t tell for sure what Albies region Fabulessly Frugal is in, but our Albies stores are in a “different” chain than a lot of other parts of the country, so they don’t have the same promos. If it’s not advertised here, it *probably* doesn’t work here.
