King Soopers: grapes for $1/lb, good price on Reynold’s foil

Haven’t looked at Safeway yet, but it looks like this is a pretty slow week for grocery sales.  If you’ve got a good stockpile in your pantry, this would probably be a good week to make a quick trip to the store for milk and produce and then eat from your pantry.  It will help your grocery budget average out a ton!

I’m hoping we get coupons for Kraft barbeque sauce and McCormick Grill Mates soon – those are items that are usually free or close to it during the summer, and once they start going on sale we usually start seeing coupons!  Keep your eye on Sunday Coupon Preview to see what coupons we’ll be getting on Sunday.

These deals are good 4/7 through 4/13.

Meat, Dairy, and Frozen

U.S.D.A. Choice Boneless Chuck Roast or Steak – B1G1 Free
Net cost at checkout: not sure, usually this sale makes it around $2.50/lb
Rating: 3 if it’s around $2.50/lb, a 4 if you can get it to $2 or less per pound.

Half Boneless Pork Loin – $1.88/lb
Rating: 4

Colorado Proud Gallon Milk (gallon) – $1.99
Rating: 3

Kroger American Cheese (8 oz) – $1
Rating: 3

Produce

Seedless Green Grapes – $1/lb
Rating: 4

Large Artichokes – $1 each
Rating: 4

Anjou Pears – $1/lb
Rating: 3

General Grocery and Household

Ragu Pasta Sauce (16-26.3 oz) – $1.69
Rating: 2-3 – I would wait to see if we get a coupon, we can usually get this below $1 with the right sale and coupon.

Heinz Ketchup (40 oz) – $1.99
Rating: 3

Kraft Barbeque Sauce (18 oz) – $1
Rating: 3 – this often goes on sale for less during the summer, and is usually very cheap or free with coupons and catalina deals.  I’d wait unless you need it.

McCormick Grill Mates Seasoning (2.8-8 oz) – $1
Rating: 3 – wait for a coupon.

King Soopers Hot Dog or Hamburger Buns (8 Count) – $1
Rating: 3

Santa Barbara Salsa (14-16 oz) – $1.88
Rating: 4? – this is a pretty good price for “fresh” salsa.  King Soopers has this near the eggs and butter, not in the produce section like Wholly Salsa.

Smart Balance (13-64 oz, full line) – 50% off
Here’s some coupons to use: $1/1 Smart Balance Butter Blend Sticks
$1/1 Smart Balance Milk Product
$1/1 Smart Balance Sticks 3/21/2010 RP Insert
$1/2 Smart Balance Spreads 3/21/2010 RP Insert
Rating: hard to say, but it’s probably a pretty good deal at 50% off plus a coupon.

Hidden Valley Ranch Salad Dressing (16 oz) – $2.99
Use $2/1 Hidden Valley Farmhouse 3/14/2010 SS Insert
Net cost at checkout: $0.99
Rating: 5 – this coupon only includes select varieties, though.  There’s also an $1/1 coupon here (requires registration).

Reynolds Wrap Aluminum Foil (35-80 sf. Selected) – $2.99
Use $0.75/1 Reynolds Wrap Foil 3/21/2010 SS Insert
or $1/1 Reynolds Wrap Aluminum Foil (excluding 20, 25 and 30 sq. ft)
Net cost at checkout: $1.99
Rating: 4, I think, for the large square foot packages.  It doesn’t go on sale very often, so I think I’m going to stock up with a couple of rolls.

Scotch-Brite Sponges (3 ct. Selected) – $1.88
Use $1/2 Scotch-Brite Product 3/7/2010 SS Insert
Net cost at checkout: $1.38
Rating: 3 – we usually get the single sponges free several times a year, but this is a pretty good deal if you either didn’t get in on that or go through a lot of sponges!  Works out to $0.46 per sponge.

Snuggle Fabric Softener – $3.99
Use $3/1 Snuggle Fabric Softener 3/28/2010 RP Insert
Net cost at checkout: $0.99
Rating: 4-5 – could go for free before the coupon expires, but who knows. :)  Thanks, Jill!

Any idea how the price per unit of the foil compares to Sam’s big rolls?

    • Carrie Isaac says:

I’ll bet you could look online at samsclub.com and figure it out! ;)

      • Tresa F says:

I usually buy the 2 x 250 rolls, and online it just says ‘pricing varies by location/in-store’…. Boo! And I haven’t kept receipts long enough to look back at the price. Boo again!

  2. Lisa says:

There’s a $0.75/1 Heinz ketchup coupon on shortcuts.com you can load onto your card to bring the 40oz down to $1.24.
On the Reynolds wrap site there’s also a $1.50/1 ‘recycle’ alum. foil. I’m printing off both to bring with me this afternoon to see what kind of deal that might yield since I noticed that pic in the flier too. We seem to go through foil like it’s TP during grilling season!

  3. Sarah H says:

My husband will be happy about the pork loin. He has been bugging me to buy pork for a while now.

  4. Julie says:

I believe the generic brand of buns at KS are normally 88 cents. A decent buy before we get into grilling season. It’s usually what I grab is we’re needing them .

  5. Sara says:

FREE hot dogs if you use the new printable from the Bar S site!! They are on sale 2 for $1 at King S this week and the printable is for $1 off 2 !!!!

  6. Charlotte says:

Has anyone tried the digital choice promo yet? Looks like you buy 10 participating items, then receive a code good for either a movie ticket or 15 ringtones or music downloads. I’m thinking with the price of a movie ticket nowadays this could be a good promo, just wondering which movie theaters are choices for the ticket once you get a code…if anyone does it and can offer any insight I would love to know!

  7. Kathy says:

I bought some of the participating items for the digital promo yesterday (8) and my receipt noted it at the bottom, so I asked the manager. She said that it can be accumulated over visits and that I need two more to reach the 10 required. I plan on going back today or tomorrow to pick up other things. I’ll let you know what I find out when I get the code! Interestingly, my cashier didn’t even know about the promo and had to go ask a manager.

  8. Janet says:

The Smart Balance spreads are 1.49 each. So using the coupon 1/1 makes them .49 each for tubs or sticks. Not too bad of a price. Kraft Shells and cheese are 1.50 each. Use BOGO printable coupons (no longer available I believe) to get 1.30 (max) off when you buy two. There is also a catalina deal out right now for 1.50 OYNO when you buy 4. OR .50/2 or 1.00/3. The Hidden Valley Farmhouse dressings are included in the sale and use your 2/1, making them .79 each. Not bad for Hidden Valley dressing.

  9. Heather M. says:

I was at King Soopers on Tuesday and there was a display of the double packs of Hamburger Helpers 4/$5.00. You could buy 3/$3.75 and use an insert or printable coupon for 3/$.75 when doubled = $1.00. FInal price $2.75. So the same as buying 6 regular hamburger helpers for about $.46 each. Even better if you have a cellfire coupon that actually comes off. :) There were only a couple varieties available but I think the sale was good for a little while, I’ll check the dates next time I’m in. They were in a display at the back of the store at the Woodmen & Lexington location.

  10. Stephanie says:

I am looking and looking through the coupons for the snuggle $3 but I can’t find it. It is the Redplum insert right? I only see Tide Stain for $3. :(

  11. Melinda Weigner says:

I work at King Soopers. They trained all of us at my store about the digital choice last week. It will work with any Theaters on Fandango. So, pretty much means all of the local theaters. I got 3 free tickets yesterday and saved 46% off my order. Oh and thanks for the great tip on the Bar S products. Gonna get my free hot dogs today!

    • Carrie Isaac says:

Great info, Melinda! Nice to know that it’s not just a few theatres.

      • Tabitha (cheapMama) says:

I think I’m going to have to pay closer attention on this promo- My husband would LOVE to go to the movies, but we could only afford it if it’s free!
