Awesome deal on Purex laundry detergent at King Soopers this week! There are a lot of 10 for $10 items as well, and some good deals there, but a lot that would be better with the right coupons.
By the way, if you’re new to Springs Bargains and wondering what the “ratings” mean, read this post for the inside scoop.
Don’t forget to design a resuable bag and get your Sooper card credited for a free one!
These deals run April 21-27, 2010.

Rating: 4-5?
Laura’s Lean 92% Ground Beef or Patties – B1G1 Free
$1/1 Laura’s Lean Beef (registration required)
Rating: 4-5 – this is a good deal, about as low as it goes (though a 50% off sale with the coupon would be better than B1G1)
Colorado Proud Milk (gallon) – $1.88
Rating: 4
Yoplait Greek Yogurt (6 oz) – $1
Use $0.45/1 Yoplait Greek Yogurt Cup – Bricks
or $0.30/1 Yoplait Greek Yogurt Cup 3/28/2010 SS #2 Insert

Fast Fixin’ Chicken (6-8 oz) – $1

Rating: 4-5, great deal for organic!
Organic Green Pears – $1
Rating: 5
Organic Leaf Lettuce – $1.49

Net cost at checkout: free!

or $1.50/2 Kellogg’s Cereals 11.4 oz + – Redplum.com
Net cost at checkout: $0.97-1.22
Rating: 3-4 – I probably wouldn’t pay more than $1 per box unless it’s a variety that doesn’t go on sale often. There are more Kelloggs coupons available if you search the database, I’ve just listed the ones that give you at least $0.75 off per box.
Chef Boyardee Pasta (7.5-15 oz. Selected) – $1
Buy four and use $1.50/4 ConAgra Products
Net cost at checkout: $0.63 each

or buy three and use $0.25/3 Campbell’s Condensed Soups 3/28/2010 SS #1 Insert

Use $0.35/1 Dial Soap Select Varieties 3/7/2010 RP Insert

Speed Stick Deodorant (1.4-2 oz. Selected) – $1
Rating: 3 – I would probably wait to see if we get a coupon to bring this down to $0.50 or less.

This weekly ad review is part of BeCentsAble’s Grocery Gathering.

Kings at Lexington/Woodmen has organic Fuji apples for $1/lb, which I think is a great deal! Also, it seems as though $1.88/gallon of milk is now the regular price, not a sale price.
Liz, do you mean that they have dropped the price to a normal price? We’ve been paying around 2.19 lately, so if this is a permanent drop – since we go through about 5 gallons a week, it would be nice if it sticks around! I was wondering if King Soopers was going to price match to Wal-Mart’s recent prices.
I’m guessing “permanent” is relative. Milk prices tend to fluctuate a fair amount, especially when it’s this cheap. I know what Liz means, though – if it’s marked on the shelf (instead of a hang tag) as $1.88, we’ll probably see that price for at least a few weeks, I would guess?
Yes, the shelf price is a “price cut” and is now at $1.88 – as Carrie says, you just never know how “permanent” the price will be, but for now, it is $1.88!
Question, Country Crock is on sale for $1 and we have 0.40 q’s making them 0.20 each. How would you rate that deal? I’m tempted to stock up since my family prefers CC over the free butter I’ve been getting.
Hey Tonya, my fam prefers it too – and I’m giving this a 4-5 because I am brand loyal. I love to stock up on these at low, low prices and then freeze them. Thanks for pointing this one out, too – my eyes scanned right over it!! :)
The links for the yogurt takes me back to the Laura’s Beef site! Please help.
The KS on Academy/Austin Bluffs had a lot of Laura’s GB in the markdown section for $2.30-$3.15 I bought three packs and used the coupons. Hormel Pepperoni is 2/$3 with the coupon it’s $1 I thought that was pretty good. Hunts Spaghetti Sauce is 0.88, Chicken Leg Quarters are 0.67 per pound. Just thought I would share.
I did the design your reusable shopping bag last week, and when I check the coupons on my Sooper card, it doesn’t show up. Has anyone done it and seen the coupon on their card?
I did the same thing and didn’t see it on my card. I decided to try it since they were only 50 cents if it didn’t work. It rang up 50 cents then ecoupon for free. So it does work. I was skeptical too.
The bag I picked was $1.07, the ecoupon gave me .99 Cents. I think .99 is the most you can get off of one bag. So I paid 8 cents.
Actually the first yogurt link takes you to the ConAgra, the second is working.
My challenge for this week and the King Soopers/Safeway ad is to see how many dinners I can create for $100. We had an unexpected expense, my pantry is bare and there hasn’t been any great sales in things we normally eat the last few weeks. Now that we’ve gotten down, it’s time to break down and lose some of my savings, but I’m hoping to get a total of 18 breakfasts, 30 lunches, and 20 dinners out of $100 – and that must include diapers and Pull Ups!! We are even out of trash bags!
YOU CAN DO IT, Mary! This might be a week where you could try to hit Rancho Liborio or a bread outlet if it helps you pull together some meals.
FYI, if you happened to miss the red plum coupon for Purex detergent the sale at King Soopers isn’t a deal. You can get 64 load liquid detergent at Wal-mart for $5 all the time. I don’t get the paper or the coupons or I would be stalking up on this too!
wow sorry for the serious typo! That’s stocking up not stalking up! LOL!
Carrie (yes another post today! :) ) – I created a group for those of us who designed bags to share! Once you’ve created your bag, or even after you can click on Manage Groups and choose to add your design to Springs Bargains (type exactly as the name) and we can share our creativity and possibly even buy each other’s designs. It also gives us the ability to vote for each other! Hope you don’t mind – thank you again for all you do!
P.S. – After you join – it could take up to 2 days to show up!
Great idea, Mary! I had no idea you could create a group. :) I’ll have to take a peek at it later and highlight the Springs Bargains bags!
Use the $1/1 Coupon in Carrie’s “Latest Coupons” section to get the 2 Liters of 7-Up for FREE. :)
I’m new to couponing, and sometimes when you have the “net cost” it doesn’t make sense to me. Like the mentos gum. If it’s $1 and you use a $.55/1 shouldn’t the cost be $.45? Dial handsoap for $1 and you use $.35/1 shouldn’t the cost be $.65? Purex Laundry at $2.50 with a $.35/1 is $2.15?? What am I missing?! lol
Hi, Laurie, and welcome to couponing! Safeway and King Soopers double coupons up to $1, so a $0.55 coupon is worth $1 after doubling. :) You can read about each store’s doubling policy from the Store Coupon Policies tab in the green bar at the top of the page.
Hope that helps!
Wow! Did not know that! Learn something knew every day! Thanks for the quick reply, and thanks for taking so much time figure out all of this for us new-be’s! :D
Not sure if it’s because they are remodeling, but the Cheyenne Meadows KS had some awesome clearance right by the front door. Craft utility scissors for $1.60, poster paint for .29, scrapbook paper for $2, tons of other office supplies. Passover ingredients for .29 — crackers, potato starch, cake mix, bread crumbs. And they had lots of other stuff and kept bringing carts full over to the shelves.
I saw this yesterday, too! Plus, there are still clearance items in the back (where they normally are) and all throughout the store on the shelves still. Seems like I couldn’t go down and aisle without seeing something on clearance. Best find (for me) was Venus 3 pk disposable razors on clearance for $2.99-$3.99; use $2/1 Gillette Mach3 Disposables 3 Ct., Sensor3 4 Ct., CustomPlus3 4 Ct., Venus Disposables 3 Ct. Or 2 Ct. Or Simply Venus 4 Ct., Any – 03-07-10 PG (exp 4/30/10) to get for $0.99-$1.99.
7up 2 liters (and various others) are on sale for $1, there were $1/2 peelies on some. The eggs from last week are on sale for $1.50 through May something, making them 50 cents or $1 depending on which coupon you have. There was a ton of gallons of milk for $1.09. (Woodman & Academy) The Fast Fixin’ Chicken coupon does not have a size restriction.
Sunny, which eggs were on sale?
The smart balance eggs, one dozen.
Regarding Laura’s ground beef, if you go to the meat counter it is 50%.
They did not have bogo at the counter, they had reg.5.99, on sale for 2.99. Awesome price for Laura’s!
Also, if you buy two packages on BOGO you can only use one coupon, but if you buy a 1/2 pound of the bulk at the meat counter, you can get two of them at $1.50 each and then take $1 coupon off of each! $1.00 for a pound of ground beef!
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails is on sale for $1.94. Use the $0.50/1 any Sally Hansen Nail Treatment or Hand Care Product from 3/28/10 RP (exp 5/31/10) to get for $0.94.
Wheaties Fuel is on sale for $1.99 (shelf price says $4.79 but rang up 1.99). Coupons.com has .75 coupon or $1 off on Wheaties facebook page. There is also a .75 e-coupon on Shortcuts.com. Plus get $4 catalina for buying 4 boxes(other GM cereals included in catalina deal).
I got a catalina from King Soopers yesterday, “buy any Kellogg’s cereal 8oz or larger, buy 5 or more get $4.00 coupon off your next shopping order.” Expires 5-14, and I got it from buying one box of Post cereal. If there are any Kellogg sales coming up it could be a pretty good deal.
TABASCO Hot Sauce, 2 oz= 10 For $10
- $0.50/1 4/25 SS
- $0.50/1 print [tabasco.com]
= FREE
There is a new Mentos gum coupon in today’s paper – $.55/1 making them free!
Anyone know if Kings on Stetson/Powers has gotten in strawberries from last weeks rainchecks?
I shopped at the KS on Woodmen & Lexingon today and was surprised to learn they have a new coupon policy! Only allowing 2 of the same printable coupons now and not doubling any that say “Do not Double” I sure hope the rest of the KS don’t start to follow this, its hard enough trying to follow the 3 like coupon rule :(
Hi there! I just noticed the last comment on the Printable coupon policy from King Soopers. I work at KS and it is and has been the policy for a while now at all of the king soopers in CS. 3 Like coupons and 2 Like printable coupons. Technically the cashier that checks you out is supposed to follow the manufacturers request to not “double” the coupon. But we do not always catch it. Hope this helps =)
What a fun day of freebies today!
I started at KS where I was able to pick up free Tabasco sauce, McCormick grill mate, Mentos gum, and a Ladies Speed Stick deodorant. Then we hopped on over to the mall for our free pretzels (the line wasn’t too bad at all!) and then on to Safeway to pick up some money making mini cream cheese – thanks for leaving some blinkies guys;) Other items were purchased at the stores as well, making it an overall rewarding day of shopping!
There’s also a tearpad by the Chef boyardee for buy 4 and get a free snack pack pudding pack. Sweetens the deal a bit.
The Speed Stick and Tabasco are on sale until 5/11, plenty of time to use the new coupons to get them free!
Yay, thanks, Sunny! I’ll make sure to add them to the new post tomorrow. :)
The orowheat soft and smooth bread was $1.50. I had $1 off coupons from I’m not sure where (actually one was a register generated one) but it made for some cheap loaves.
Sorry for another post but I fogot to mention that I was at the Hartsel location and they had two carts full of marked down soap and dish detergents. I used a Dawn coupon to get get dish soap for 40 cents. They had regular ones and the foaming kind and a few different brands if you like a certain brand/kind. I just went for the biggest bottle at the cheapest price.
Just got back from the Baptist Rd location, they had coupons in front of the Healthy Choice frozen dinners for $5/5 which brings them to $1ea + 1 free Kroger Ice Cream when you buy 5 (exp 5/31)
Whoa, nice! But… if you buy ice cream along with your Healthy Choice meals are they really healthy anymore? ;)
Lol the same exact thought went through my head my the kiddos appreciated it :)
