Connie needs some help finding lodging for some out-of-town guests:
We have some friends coming from out of town, they are looking for a hotel preferably with a one bedroom suite/kitchenette that is kid friendly. They’d also consider a house rental for about 3 days. Do you or your other readers have any tips?
Anyone have any tips on where to find this type of lodging in Colorado Springs, preferably at an affordable price? The Mountain View Bed and Breakfast might be an option for some, though there’s no kitchenette.
If you can recommend a hotel or perhaps a vacation rental or cabin here in the Springs, please leave a comment and let us know your tips. I know a lot of us have friends and family that want to visit (hello, we live in Colorado!) and it would be great to have a list of affordable lodging recommendations!

the timber lodge!!
Sarah, where is that?
They may want to try vrbo.com. This website is Vacation Rentals By Owner. I have used it several times when planning vacations in Colorado and other states. I have always had good luck with the place I rented and great prices.
My inlaws have stayed here when they visit. http://www.extendedstayamerica.com/hotels/colorado-springs-west.html
I haven’t actually been in the room when they stayed there but they have always seemed fine with it. I’m sure you could go by and ask to check out one of the rooms.

I’ve heard the Airport Value Inn is cheap and clean. They do have kitchenettes available.
I’ve heard homeaway.com is also an option, but I’ve never used it.
I’ve seen Value Place on South Powers and Airport right behind Mcdonalds. They advertise $189.00 per week.
