Help us find frozen treats in Colorado Springs!

Julie wants help finding a sweet summer treat:

We love Rizuto’s for ice cream, but in order to be a bit healthier we would like to find a good local place for frozen yogurt.  Any ideas?

Just in case you haven’t heard of Rizuto’s, it’s a local ice cream place that’s famous for the $1 soft serve cones, which are rumored to be huge.  They’re located at 4785 Barnes Rd.

And, while this is the opposite of healthy, I want help finding a good snow cone here in the Springs! I mean the type of place that gives you a huge cup of soft, shaved ice with lots of high-fructose corn and food coloring laden syrup. ;)

Can anyone help with these requests for frozen yogurt and snow cones?  Please leave a comment if you can!

For a good snowcone there is a small shack on Circle (the East side) just a bit south of Constitution. Last time I had one it was inexpensive and huge! Any flavor you can imagine.

There’s a candy store at the Chapel Hills Mall that has the snow cones you’re taking about. I have no idea on the price but there candy isn’t cheap. If anyone know the price or somewhere else to go everyone in my family would be very excited! These were a favorite treat of ours when we lived in CA

Also, not healthy, but if you haven’t been to Squeak yet, you should! They have amazing, locally made ice cream that is sort of like an ice cream/gellato hybrid as well as an entire candy wall, cotton candy and of course, to die for handmade sodas in almost 100 different flavors. The last time I was in there the owner said that he was thinking about adding snow cones this summer. The prices are totally reasonable as well.

I think we need to start a campaign to bring Pinkberry to the Springs!!!

We went to Rizuto’s last week for the first time and the rumors are true! I think the soft serve cones were fat and probably a good 5 inches above the cone! Two of us had scoops and even they were big! Totally worth the dollar, especially if you compare the amount you’re getting to McDonald’s or Baskin Robbins or something.

For the best deal on Rizuto’s soft serve cones, use the 20% off coupon from Entertainment Book to buy 25 cones for $20 punch card, and get $4 off the card. 25 Cones for $16.00! We LOVE them!!
