Reader Request: affordable shoe repair

Amber needs some help finding a shoe repair-er (cobbler?) in Colorado Springs:

I have several pairs of shoes that need to be repaired, specifically the tips of my heels. Do you or any of your readers have a suggestion of a great inexpensive place for shoe repair?

Can anyone provide recommendations for Amber?  Recommendations with prices would be great, as I know sometimes shoe repair can be cost-prohibitive!  Please leave a comment with your suggestions.

Archived Reader Requests are available here, and you can also submit a request.

The unisex barber shop on Galley offers affordable shoe repair. They are usually only open in the evenings after 4pm.

I’ve had good luck at Westside Boot & Shoe‎ on W. Colorado and 7th. Quick service, friendly staff and great work.

This is good to know. Thanks!

We have gotten my husbands shoes repaired many times at Bon Shoe Repair in the Bon shopping center. He’s always done a great job.

I’ve used Rustic Hills Shoe repair on the southeast corner of Palmer Park and Norrth Academy several times over the last 4 years for shoes and even a zip-up BIble cover repair, and have been very happy with them. I had a pair of my husband’s dress shoes resoled earlier this year. I called around thinking I might find a less expensive place–I thought $35 was a lot. But I found out that most of the shoe repair places charged about the same (leather soles just aren’t cheap). I just figure shoe repairs are less expensive than new shoes any day.

I’ve been really happy with Andy’s Shoe Repair, 1622 E. Pikes Peak Ave 632-9990. They’ve done a great job resoling my shoes and they’re quite reasonable. I even overheard one of the Dillard’s shoe salespeople recommending them once.

I don’t know the name of this place, but I’ve used the tiny shoe repair store in the same shopping center as King Soopers at Woodmen and Academy. I had some sewing redone on my shoes for $6 and also had a purse strap sewn back on (twice!) for $6. I haven’t done major repairs there, though.

My grandfather does shoe repair out of his home. His name is Delbert Kraich and he owns Kraich’s Boot Repair. His phone number is 683-2476. He will repair anything leather, from shoes to belts to saddles.

Wow! Thanks for the responses! I have a lot of options now! :)
