Hot Kraft cheese catalina deal at King Soopers = possibly free cream cheese!

There’s a hot Kraft Cheese catalina deal starting at King Soopers tomorrow (Monday, July 19). Buy 5 Kraft cheese products, get a catalina for $5 on your next order, plus Kraft will donate 5 meals to Feeding America!

This is gonna be an awesome deal with the Mega Event! Kraft Cheese is $1.88 when you buy 10 participating products:

Buy 5 Kraft Cheese products at $1.88 each (when you buy 10 participating Mega Event products)
Net cost at checkout: $9.40, plus earn a $5 catalina
Net cost after catalina: $4.40 or $0.88 each
Rating: 5

I also found a blinkie coupon (in the chip aisle!) for $1/2 Kraft Cheese products. If you’re lucky and can find a couple of these, the deal is even better:

Buy 5 Kraft Cheese products at $1.88 each (when you buy 10 participating Mega Event products)
Use two $1/2 blinkies
Net cost at checkout: $7.40, plus earn a $5 catalina
Net cost after catalina: $2.40 or $0.48 each
Rating: 5

And, can you handle one more scenario?  Because if Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cheese is included in this promo, it’s free!

Buy 5 Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cheese at $0.99 each (when you buy 10 participating Mega Event products)
Net cost at checkout: $4.95, plus earn a $5 catalina
Net cost after catalina: free!
Rating: 5

As with most catalina deals, you’ll likely only earn one catalina, even if you were to buy 10 Kraft Cheese products, so you’ll probably want to fulfill your minimum purchase of 10 Mega Event items with something else.  The signs I saw promoting this deal said it runs 7/19 through 8/15.

And one more Mega Event note: I noticed Hunt’s Tomatoes were 39¢ after the Mega Event promotion, which is a pretty hot deal, too – as long as my tired brain is actually remembering the right price I saw in the store!

Check out the rest of this week’s King Soopers’ deals (including more Mega Event matchups).

Do you know if the mega event will continue another week as it sometimes does? It would be nice to be able to do this a couple or more times and get some more coupons to use with the other products. I don’t seem to have many that match up with what’s on sale.

    • Carrie Isaac says:

I think so, but argh, forgot to check the tags in the store! Maybe someone else can help.

    • Jacob says:

The King Soopers ad that I have (for Fort Collins) says that it lasts from 7/11 to 7/24, but I think that might be a mistake because King Soopers ads run Wednesday to Tuesday, not Sunday to Saturday as their published dates suggest.

      • Carrie Isaac says:

Jacob, that’s kind of what I’m wondering too – it would be REALLY odd if it ended on a Saturday.

      • Carrie Isaac says:

Just went to King Soopers and actually remembered to check! The tags on the Mega Event were marked as going through 7/27, so I think we should have another full week starting on Wednesday. Yahoo!

  2. Janet says:

Carrie, you saw the right price on the tomatoes. I stocked up on them. It’s a great deal without coupons, imagine if we had coupons!!!

  3. Sheri says:

At my Safeway there are a ton of peelies on Kraft Cheese for $1.00 off 1. These will be great to use at KS!

  4. hannah says:

Here’s the specific details of the catalina deal, which I found on Mommy Snacks blog, she also has all the other catalinas running or set to run at King Soopers:

Buy any 5 and receive $5 Catalina AND Kraft will donate 5 meals to FEEDING AMERICA!

    • Carrie Isaac says:

Mommy Snacks is a great resource for Kroger catalinas! Just a caution, though – a lot of catalinas that run at Kroger don’t run at King Soopers, so it’s kind of a hit or miss deal sometimes. This one was def advertised IN King Soopers, though!

  5. Amy says:

Yes, I saw $1/1 peelies on 1lb. packages of Kraft shreds at Walmart yesterday but I don’t think it is exactly kosher to peel a peelie and not buy that very product right then. Just my opinion, others may not agree.

    • Carrie Isaac says:

I agree! Blinkies seem to be a little different, though, since they’re not affixed to a particular product.

  6. Jacob says:

I was checking out from King Soopers when the magical catalina machine printed out the following:

  7. Heather M. says:

Just got back from King Soopers. I got 5 cream cheese and got a $5 ono, yeah!

  8. linn says:

FYI— the Velveeta is on the buy 5 get a catalina for $5 deal but NOT on the buy 10 items get $5 off deal. I caught it in time as I was working to combine the two deals plus using coupons (great savings!), but others might not notice.

  9. Jacob says:

I got my $5 catalina tonight. I also noticed at my King Soopers (in Fort Collins) a peelie coupon in the cookie isle for $1 off Nabisco Nilla Wafers with the purchase of cream cheese. I was buying cream cheese anyway (for the catalina deal) and the Nilla Wafers are a participating item for the 10 item mega event, so the price on them ended up being something like a buck.

I also found Simply Hashbrowns as part of the mega event at about a $1, and I had a 0.55 coupon to use on them that I got out of the Safeway dairy coupon book from a little while ago, so I ended up with free hashbrowns. You can find them in the refrigerated section near the eggs.

  10. Jacob says:

Quick question on catalinas in general: Since I earned a $5 kraft catalina today, can I go back again tomorrow and buy more Kraft items and get another one? Or is it connected somehow to my Sooper card so that only one will print?

    • Carrie Isaac says:

Yep, you can – I rolled one back-to-back yesterday. Usually only Walgreens is the only store that won’t allow you to “roll” the same catalina.

      • Audrey says:

So you used a $5 catalina and it gave you another $5 catalina? If so I’m gonna be putting lots of cheese in the freezer this week if I can keep coming up with 5 other things to add to my order. Those tomatoes are a great cheap filler.

        • Carrie Isaac says:

Yep! I did the same thing with the tomatoes as the filler!!! That and Gatorade as basketball officiating season for my husband will start sooner than I realize!

  11. Andrea says:

I went and got my cheese today and the catalina didn’t print. I asked the cashier and he told me to wait just a second for the head cashier. Apparently they haven’t been printing today at that location (Stetson Hills), so instead they gave me a $5 refund! I also found the $1/2 Kraft blinkie in the chip aisle, so $6.51 for 4 shredded cheese and 1 cream cheese minus the $5 refund (in lieu of catalina) = $1.51 or about $0.30 each!!

  12. Stephanie says:

Andrea, that happened to me too. The head cashier was a little snippy with me though since i peeled the coupon instructions off a shredded cheese but used it on cream cheese. The pic of cream cheese is on there too and it says cheese and dairy products. At first he didn’t want to give it to me but then he did. I did two separate transactions and they took the $5 off the second one. Just bummed out that my catalina for $4 for buying Daninos did not print. :( They said if I would have the advertising print that I got they would give it to me. Don’t have it anymore. Carrie, is there anywhere where I could proof to them that the Dannon campaign is going on?

  13. Sarah says:

I bought 3 dannon products in one transaction and got a $1 ono catalina. I bought 2 the last time I went and didn’t get anything, so I’m not sure the specifics of the deal, but there is one!

  14. Sara says:

I have the print out about the Dannon Catalina- it says when you buy Dan-o-nino 6 packs from 7/12-8/8 buy2 get $1 buy3 get $1.50 buy 4 get $2 . I just did the Kraft one and my $5 didnt print so I have emailed the Catalina Co. b/c otherwise I just bought 5 cream cheese’s for $4.95 that I dont particularly need. UGH!! The kids aquafresh bubble mint toothpaste is $1 when you buy 10 too, so with the online q you get it free.

  15. Carolyn says:

Help! I went to the Woodmen/Rangewood KingSoopers yesterday to get the $5 Catalina for Kraft cheese and it didn’t print. I asked the cashier, he called another manager type over, and they went and “checked” to see if there was a Catalina offer mentioned by the cheese section and came back and said they saw nothing about it…so wouldn’t give me the deal. I purchased (2) Kraft shredded and (3) Philadelphia cream cheeses. Wasn’t there a way to contact Catalina when you didn’t’ get the printout … or is that a royal pain?
