Managing to catch us nearly completely off-guard (hadn’t expected it for another couple of weeks), we had a baby girl this weekend! We are praising God for a beautiful 8 lb, 7 oz, perfectly healthy and positively beautiful little girl and a peaceful birth at home.
We’re taking it easy and enjoying the transition to four little ones, but I’ve got some great guest posts prepared and I’ll post short updates here and there. And, for the past few months, I’ve had an assistant helping with the weekly grocery ad matchups, so those will continue this week, albeit without the ratings. Thanks so much for Lisa for her work with the ad matchups, especially this week!
So far everyone has adjusted well, though our oldest took a few hours to get used to the fact that he wasn’t getting a brother, as he’d hoped (and we’d all expected, based on my obviously wrong mother’s intiution!). For the next few weeks, we’ll have three girls two and under - ack! Watch for a future series called How To Throw Three Weddings On A Budget. ;)

Yeah! Congrats! I have been thinking about you these past few days since we were due around the same time. We had our little GIRL too last Saturday at home in water :) She was 9lbs. Congrats, Carrie!! My baby girl shocked us and came early too. She got here yesterday (Monday) at 8:02 am and weighed 7lbs 6oz. 3 girls and a boy for us too! :) Hope your recovery and adjustment to life with 4 goes beautifully – babies are such a sweet miracle! :)
Congrats on your sweet baby! I have 4 kids, with the last 2 delivered at home with midwifes. My youngest was born in Feb here with a midwife and my daughter was a little disappointed at first saying “you know mommy, I wanted a sister”. I have the opposite….3 boys and 1 daughter. I wonder if we used the same midwife? Mine was Jessica but I had a friend that used Dottie. Did you use either of them?

But I remember my devastation when I was 6 and my mom brought home another brother instead of the sister I’d prayed so earnestly for!
