If you work the catalina deal just right, you can get some free granola bars and fruit snacks this week at Safeway. I’m now going to go take a nap to get rid of the headache that started when I tried to figure out the best deal scenario. ;)

There are separate catalina deals going on for Nature Valley + Fiber One Granola Bars and Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks. There are lots of different combinations you could do, I’ve just inserted the “easiest” scenario – though, you’ll probably want/need to mix and match the products so you can optimize your coupon use.
Note that the *best* deal is to buy five products and earn a $3 catalina – though, that’s a confusing scenario to communicate since the instant savings promotion is for buying in multiples of four.
For more info on these catalinas, read here. For more info on catalinas in general, read here.

For Colorado Springs….the buy 4 save $4 promo at Safeway is actually buy 4 or more so you don’t have to buy in mulitples of 4. I had a manager test this for me by scanning 5 items and they rang up with the sale price. So, this works out even better for the Nature Valley granola bars (and nut clusters) catalina. Also, the store on Powers/Constitution has changed their internet printable policy (talked to the manager this morning). They accept internet printable coupons if they scan and are not fraudulent. There is no more limit to the number they take. As with any manufacture coupon, only can be used per item. So if you’re buying 5 boxes of granola bars, you can use 5 internet printable coupons for those items. If the coupon doesn’t scan, they won’t accept it.
This is good news for everyone all the way around. :)
I think the Sweet Moments cookies/desserts are on rollback at WalMart for $1.53 (for those who dare enter!) ;) So, they’d only be $0.53 there…but you know how WM’s prices vary!!
The Nature Valley Sweet n’ Salty Bars are also a part of this deal, and we have $.50 coupons for these in the 8/8 SS. I also printed one off of coupons.com, so I was able to buy 4 and get a $2.50 catalina. I guess I could have printed two, but alas, I didn’t know at the time :) Anyway, these are a great deal because they end up being $.50 each and a $.50 moneymaker after catalina!
I can back Karla up! I just got back from Safeway, and I broke my catalina deals into 5′s and did them one at a time–it confuses me less that way. It worked, no problem. And everything printed just fine as well. I saved BIG bucks!!! And I guess I had several electronic coupons loaded that were a factor, cause it just kept taking more and more off! OOP for just the granola bar and fruit snack type stuff was $3.09 for 20 items! And that was before I considered the $12.50 in catalinas I walked away with!
If you purchase 10 items, will you get 2 catalinas or is it only 1 catalina per transactions?
I separated mine and did them in groups of 5, so I don’t know. Generally though, I think if you did 10 items, 5 of the Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks and 5 of the Fiber One/Nature Vally granola bars/clusters, you would get two, because they are independent of each other.
I went to Safeway today and got 12 boxes of fruit snacks (two transactions), paid 3 cents OOP and ended up with a $3.00 catalina!
How did you do this?
I’m a bit confused about the Golden Grahams deal… aren’t those coupons for the “snacks” and not the cereal?
Just an FYI, but the Simply Fruit Roll-ups ARE included in the Safeway deal. I haven’t found any stores that have the sale price sticker on the shelf, but they do ring up at the $1.99 price, (or 99cents when you buy 4) just like the other Roll-Ups and GM Fruit Snacks on sale, and buying them will generate a Catalina as well. (I’ve already done it twice)
Freschetta Pizza will print twice!
