We have been trying to find a good, honest car mechanic on the Powers/east side of town. I wondered if any readers had ideas? Our old car shop went out of business.

We have an AWESOME mechanic though he is not on the east side of town. We do live off Powers though and don’t mind the short trip to him. His name is John and his business is Auto Pro Service Center. He just bought a new shop off of Platte. He is a great guy, runs the place and does all the work himself (with the help of his wife) and does a fantastic job. He’s the best mechanic we’ve ever used and have been using him for a couple years now.

Red Earth Automotive is a mobile mechanic service and they will go to where you are. The rates are about half the cost of the shops in town and he is very honest( I should know since I did marry the owner). You can reach Adam at 719-659-3064
I have worked with Master Tech Auto of Victor Place and Powers for a few years and they have been very good to me. They also send coupons in the mail periodically that really help with major repairs when they come up!
We go to a guy named Bob Hellem with Hellem’s Auto Repair. He’s extremely knowledgeable and always treats us fairly. He’s done a TON of work on our three very old cars since we’ve lived in the area. We never have problems with work they’ve done, and they never try to upsell us either. They only do whatever work needs to be done for the well being of the car. He’s just off the Nevada exit. We live on the far North end of town and never mind driving our cars down to him.
While not exactly on the Eas side, we’ve had very good service from Independant Volvo (http://yourimportcardoctor.com/) near Vickers and Academy. Good pricing, excellent service.
We’ve also had good service from Aspen Auto Clinic’s Mark Dabling location, they’ve recently opened a location on Tutt near Target, but we have not used this location yet.
We use Airport Automotive and love them. Gary Olson is the owner. We know his family very well from church. He has 2 other employees that work with him. He is very honest and does great work! He really goes the extra mile. He is located at Platte and Powers.
I highly recommend Lee Miller with Mobile AutoWorks. He will come any where that you are to work on your vehicle there. He has worked on both of our cars and we love him. He is a Pop place working on his own and this is his only income for his family. Very good Christian man and will fix your car for a fraction of the cost of the big box stores. Aspen Auto Clinic is WONDERFUL! We have been very blessed by their honesty and standing behind their repairs. It’s by the Salvation Army Thrift store off of Tutt…by Target. And as a female they have been very good to work with, they explain and show things to you!
My husband is a mobile mechanic and he goes to any side of town. He has been in business for over 15 years and has been a mechanic for over 25 years. He can do work at your house or business. The company is Mobile Auto Works and the number is 578-5286. We would gladly provide references if you need them and my husband does just about any auto repair and maintenance.

Metric Motors is my choice. David is a great guy and has often treated my right. Located on Platte just east of Union. Highly recommended.
I highly recommend Auto Werks, and while not exactly on the east side, we live waaaay out east and wouldn’t take our cars anywhere else. Mike is as honest as the day is long, offers a fair price, and will work with his customers to give them what they can afford. We live east of Powers, but take our cars (And my husband’s fleet) to H+R Automotive. They are totally awesome, Hank and his two boys.

They are truly as honest as it gets, only fix it if it needs it, and have always both remembered my name, and been willing to lift the hood and talk about what’s going on with me.

Anyone have a cheap oil change place? I know it’s cheaper to do it myself, but I drive an insane amount for work, and have no garage. And as much fun as oil changes in the snow sound….
We use Elevation Auto, which is on the east side; right off the end of Dublin. We’ve used them for five years and Matt (the owner) is honest and up front. His other mechanic, Dave, is awesome too. They’re very honest and will tell you if it’s necessary to fix certain items on your vehicle. Their # is 522-1291.
