If you are looking for wooden Thomas the Train pieces I’d look in TJ Maxx. Usually, I’m totally aghast at how much real Thomas the Train peices are but these didn’t seem too bad.
I think we’re using money the grandparents gave the kids to get a “Thomas” set for Christmas… But the plan is to buy off-brand, wooden tracks with any trains that will go along with them. There are a LOT of off-brands out there, and from the people I’ve asked, they seem to work pretty well.
I’ve just been looking online, but I’ll have to check TJ Maxx!
Oh, I agree 110% We started with the Toy R Us set (with money from grandma) and the peices work just fine with the Thomas set. For basic track and trains I would never recomend paying for Thomas pieces but for the special pieces the quality and creativity of the Thomas pieces are far superior. Much of the extras from the Toys R Us set have broken over the years but the extra Thomas pieces that have been much loved (and much abused) are still in great condition.
