King Soopers Weekly: Mega Event Deals Get Even Better!

I have to tell you – weeks like this are when I am very grateful to have Lisa doing the behind-the-scenes work on the coupons, and an awesome husband who can cook, clean, grocery shop, and take care of the kids.  I’m on Day 3 of The Plague Of Death and I’ve been more sick that I’ve ever been in my entire life.

Anyway – the Mega Event continues this week, and there were quite a few coupons in Sunday’s inserts that match up to the participating items for even more great deals!

And, there’s a new King Soopers e-coupon for a FREE deli party tray, up to a $12 value!  Just go here and click on Special Offers.

Game Day Greats – Save $5 when you buy any 10 participating products

Lots of deals in this promotion – over 150 items!  You should be able to do this deal multiple times in one transaction, just make sure you buy in groups of ten (not as easy as it sounds :) )!

Comments

  1. FREE toothpaste!

Colgate toothpaste (not part of the buy 10 deal) is .98. There was a .75 coupon in 1/30 SS.

    • Oops! guess I didn’t see the toothpaste already listed. :)

      • Ha, nope – somehow Lisa listed it and then I deleted it (or something, I’m still not sure what happened!) and then I put it “back” in. :)

  2. Thanks for being so dedicated in helping us penny-pinchers to seriously SAVE! I hope your funk leaves you very soon – yuck!

  3. I’m sort of bummed…I can see the coupon for the free deli tray when I’m not logged in; but, as soon as I log in, it says there are no more available! Rats!

  4. Don’t forget about all the great coupons they have on their website you can load onto your King Soopers Card!

  5. Carrie, I’m SO sorry to hear you are sick! You look just as lovely as ever, from here! ;) Please stay in bed and get well. Your loyal fans will be patient as you recover. Can I bring dinner to your family?

    • Aw, thank you so much, Sharon! The plus side is that I can’t sleep, so I have been working all day long on my laptop in bed. ;) I wouldn’t want anyone to get within 100 feet of this plague, but thank you so much for the sweet offer for dinner. :)

  6. I had the same problem on the Party Tray special. BUT I WENT BACK AND TRIED AGAIN about 20 min later and it worked!!! Might be worth trying again for the rest of you! :-)

  7. I just loaded the deli tray a few minutes ago.

Thanks, Julie! I just tried again after reading your comment and it worked this time :)

  9. Carrie, I am on day 8 of this plague. I too have never been so sick. I give you credit for taking care of 4 kids and still updating the blog. I have been having the hub do my shopping too. My teenager daughter asked what could Dad possible do wrong and I replied “pay full price”. I had him go to King Soopers to get items under the buy 10 get $5 off and was so worried he wouldn’t count the right number of items but he did a gr8 job! As Mom’s we don’t sometimes realize just how much we do around the home until we aren’t able too. I actually miss doing my daily household chores :(

    • LOL. I was going to send my husband to deal the deal and I was too worried that he wouldn’t get the right # of items, so I took my coupons back!

    • I know EXACTLY what you mean! I just got back last weekend from a blogging conference and was so eager to see my kiddos again, and get back to real life, then just a couple of hours after I got home I got super sick. Argh!

Jeremy just got back from Kng Soopers – we’ll see if he counted right. I didnt’ even give him any coupons to use – don’t have the motivation to cut them out. Just hoping I get better before Tuesday so I can actually use all the coupons I have!

  10. I bought 2 bags of the Snickers and 2 bags of the Twix and got a $5.00 oyno!! It says buy M&M Mars between 1/24 and 2/14 spend $10 and get $3 or spend $15 and get $5… great deal for Valentine’s treats… I actually bought them for my son’s league and regional wrestling tournaments as a treat since we will be away in Lamar and Pagosa Springs the next 2 weekends and he has had to eat only healthy foods since November… so this oyno was a nice surprise!

    • I just wanted to thank Kathy for posting about the Mars catalina. I just got 6 bags of M&Ms for FREE as a result! Here’s how:

Buy 6 bags of plain or peanut M&Ms (marked down from $3.69 to 2/$4) = $12
(I also bought 4 other items to get the mega event to work)

      Mega event discount = 0.50/item = $3
      Used 3 (previously available) RP printables for $1.50/2 M&Ms = $4.50

      Subtotal = $4.50

Got a $5 catalina for “spending” $15 on Mars products (which I’m assuming was calculated off the regular $3.69 price)

      Total = $0.50 MM!

Even if you don’t have the q’s, it’s still not a bad deal in my opinion…

    • I just thought about this more – and if it in fact is going off the $3.69 per bag price for the cat, you could buy 3 bags (total = $6), get $1.50 back from the mega event (assuming you buy 7 more items to get to 10), and get a $3 cat for “buying” $10 of products. This would make each bag $0.50 each and you wouldn’t need q’s! Or buy 5 bags and pay a net of $0.50 each too. Can you tell I’m excited about the M&M deal :)

      • Amanda—Interesting! I don’t have the coupons. Anyone try to buy just 3 and get a catalina??

        • Hi Sarah – just to report back, I went to a different KS to try to do this deal again. The other one had them for the regular price ($3.69 before mega event) – I thought they might ring up as 2/$4, but they didn’t. The cat did roll though! (and I got another $5 cat for 5 bags, so my guess is this would work on 3 bags too) Hope this helps anyone who might be lucky enough to find them at 2/$4 as I did the first time :)

  11. Try this link to load a $1/3 coupon for the hunts tomato’s
    http://www.kingsoopers.com/in_store/Pages/promotions.aspx

  12. For the deli tray deal, I’ve gone back to the site a few times in the past hour or so, and it continually says “Offer No Longer Available”. Bummer. I did get the deal for the free wings the other day — maybe it doesn’t let you “load” both?

Also, the Carefree pantyliners do not have a special price tag saying they are a participating item, and they are not coming up at register with (+) sign, indicating that they are a participating item in the BUY 10 sale. Hmmm?

    • I tried to do the deli tray freebie at about 10a.m., and it didn’t have any left then. And I didn’t get the wings. I’m guessing there are limited quantities, and they just flew threw them. Bummer.

  13. I tried to find the free deli wings that were loaded on my card today at the King Soopers on Academy/Austin Bluffs and could not find them. The deli made me a 12 ct package and said it should work for the coupon on my card….but then I went to the register and it didn’t work and they said there was no way for them to check and see I really have the coupon on my card. But, then they let me have the wings for free because they said they would have to throw the wings in the trash. Oh well!!!!! I tried.

    • I had an issue with something not coming off & was told I needed to bring in a print out of the webpage which shows all the things on my card. Perhaps I’ll try that. I also got the wings, but was not permitted to load the deli tray. My guess it is one freebie per account!

  14. Carrie- Hope you feel better! Nothing worse than being a mom and sick! Also, I’m wondering if, at any of the blog conferences, they’ve touched on text message alerts for subscribers. I’m totally bummed I’ve missed out on two hot deals this week at Soopers between the wings and party tray. I was thinking that perhaps people could opt in to a text alert for really smokin hot deals. That way, frugal mamas could make it a point to get to a computer:)

Also, to everyone, are you having any trouble redeeming coupons when you have already loaded a coupon from cellfire or sooper’s web site? I don’t know how to effeciently keep track of the electronic coupons, so I’d hate to get up to the register and not have things go as planned. If I recall correctly, a few months back, it seemed like Soopers was going to become more strict on such things. Any tips are welcome!

  15. There are Q’s for the Kroger tp on the display . $1off 2. Can only use 1 per transaction.

  16. the starkist coupon for the free pouch of tuna (50/1 that would double up) is no longer available.

  17. If anyone got the coupon book from Safeway a few weeks ago, it had $1 off on any SeaPak item.. and I also found another $1 off Seapak item from that i cut from an insert (IDK which one.. I cut and file all my Q’s)

  18. *Giggle*
Progresso Light, Reduced Sodium or High Fiber Soup (18.5-19 oz) – $0.99
Use $1/4 Progresso Soups – 1/16/2011 SS Insert
Net cost at checkout: $0.74 each when you buy 4
    Rating: $0.74
    Love the rating!!! ;)

  19. Sorry for all the posts… but as I decide what I need/want and locate coupons, I’ve found a few things. :)
I’m not sure where it is from but I have a $1.50/2 for the snickers minis. 9.4 oz or larger.
It makes these here $1.75 per bag. I only have one Q, so maybe it came from All You? I typically buy multiple newspapers… soo….. :)

  20. Carrie ~ I just want to say “thanks”. I have been reading your blog for a few years and you have taught me so much about grocery shopping. Yesterday I purchased my first 20 items on King Soopers Mega Deal and was very pleased with my coupons and planning etc. Thanks for all you do!

    • I agree! I’ve read tons of other blogs out there and only one other even comes CLOSE to making this process as easy and painless as Carrie’s. You rock gurl!

  21. Several of the Kikkoman items are on sale for $1.99 (not part of the buy 10 deal), with $1/1 printable, I got 10oz bottles of soy sauce and teriyaki sauce for .99 cents. The big jug at Sam’s is still cheeper by .03 cents and oz. but this is not something you find on sale very often from my (limited) experience.

    • Kikkoman also makes a Panko Bread Crumb (check the flour aisle). Found it on sale at Kings for $0.99 so FREE with the $1/1 coupon! :) Yippee!!

**also, don’t forget there is a $1/eggs wyb any 2 Kikkoman products from the 1/23 RP…so you could use that coupon instead if you’re buying eggs anyway. Not as great of a deal, but not bad! :)

  22. Went to the Briargate & Union KS. At the back by the eggs, they have a display of Malt-o-meal frosted shredded wheat 50 oz bag for $1.99. That makes the cereal 3.9 cents/ounce. (Walmart has half the size of bag for $2.32) Shredded wheat is one of my family’s favorite cereals, but we don’t buy it because it is so expensive. Today, I just bought 10 bags and we’ve already eaten a bunch! :0)…

    • My sister and I saw this deal and used our $2/2 Malt O Meal coupons from the 1/2 SS to get those *huge* bags for $0.99 each. Great deal!!

  23. King Soopers on Austin Bluffs/Academy has their 12 pack soft drinks on sale for 4 for $8.88. Not as good as the Safeway deal, but we ran out of coupons before we got as many soft drinks as we needed…so the $8.88 ended up being good for us! And it’s not advertised.
