Safeway Weekly: Good Deals On Coke 12-Packs & More

Safeway is doing another spend $75, get a $10 coupon to use on your next order again!  This time it’s valid the entire sale week (through Tuesday, April 5) so there’s plenty of time to plan your shopping trip.

Your $75 minimum is after all store discounts and store coupons, but before manufacturer’s coupons – they even confirmed this on their Facebook page last week, so if it doesn’t print, I would definitely either talk to customer service or contact the Catalina company.

These deals are valid March 30 – April 5.

  1. I just wanted to report back on the Safeway catalina deal from last weekend for the $10 off when you spend $75. While it did say on the Safeway FB page that you’d get a cat if your total was $75 pre-manufacturer q’s, in speaking with Catalina this is *not* how they were administering the promo. (they were doing it post-all discounts) I had to email them a printout of the FB comments showing that Safeway customer service was reporting that the promo would be before MQs at their request! I am still waiting to hear back from them to see if they will give me my $10 (Safeway customer service has already confirmed for me that my “eligible purchase” was above $75).

So just a warning that you may run into some trouble if you are at $75 pre-MQ, but below post-MQ. After reading the fine print on this current promo (“… calculated after… all other discounts and savings…”), I am going to skip it since I am worried about running into the same issue again and fear that I may end up getting caught by this fine print if I try. Good luck to those who go for it though!

    • I wanted to provide an update on my experience with this promotion again – catalina will not honor the $75 pre-MQ, only post-MQ. So, I called Safeway back, and they said that even though it saying on their FB page that it’s pre-MQ – that is really is post-MQ. Safeway customer service got my store manager to agree to give me a $10 gift card in place of the cat due to the discrepancy.

I still do have a scan of the FB page advertising pre-MQ if anyone else gets caught in this issue for the prior promotion and needs it to state their case :)

      • I feel like Safeway really needs to get their act together on this (OK, on a lot of things!). I’m pretty sure several readers reported receiving the catalina last week when their post-coupon total was less than $75 due to manufacturer’s coupons. That is the way it’s always worked in the past, and they definitely could have changed it, but the fact that it worked for some people makes me think there’s more to the story.

A couple of things that could be affecting it are the Catalina machines not working (if you received other Catalinas, this wouldn’t be the case of course), OR confusing store coupons with manufacturer’s coupons. Your total would need to be $75 after store discounts, which *includes* store coupons or in-ad coupons.

Anyway, I’m suspicious that it really must be $75 paid at checkout, but I could be wrong. :)

  2. Shantelle says:

I would like a copy of the FB page… I spent $69 (but made sure that it was $75+ before manufacturer coupons) and no catalina =(
