Reader Request: Landscape and Excavating Services

A question from Stacie:

We are looking at doing some excavating (flattening our yard) and also have some sod put down. Is there a person or company that you would recommend that has cheap prices, yet good work?

Can you help Stacie with a recommendation on a company or companies that would be able to do some excavating and landscape services in Colorado Springs?  Please comment on this post with your tips!

We used Long Irrigation & Landscaping for some work. They are BBB, family and locally owned, licensed and insured. They were a bit higher than some of the quotes we received, but I didn’t feel comfortable with those folks either. Phone: 719.471.4875. They’ll do an estimate and didn’t require any money down to begin the job. They wanted payment at the end — so that eliminates those nightmare stories of giving 50 percent and the company not completing the job.
When they installed our sod this spring, the owner found a stray dog and walked it around the neighborhood to find its owner. Really good service.

Dan, the owner of Long Irrigation & Landscaping just completed our backyard for our rental property. He did a great job. We got 7 quotes for the job and his prices were comparable with other companies we interviewed. They also provide a military discount.

My brother has a landscape company – Fisk Lawnscapes, 719-495-6300, I’d recommend him for any work!

A family at my church owns JTB Landscaping http://jtblandscaping.com/ and they are great hardworking people.

JTB is a great landscaping company. The owners are christian, and their rates are reasonable, I don’t know about cheap. The work will be top notch and well done.
