Military Families Get Free Annual Pass To National Parks

Starting Saturday (Armed Forces Day), active-duty military families can get a free annual pass to our national parks!  This is the pass that gets you in free to all national parks that charge an entrance fee, and is normally $80 to purchase.  You can pick it up with your military ID at any national park.

This AP article says that “Each family member will also be able to obtain their own pass even if the service member is deployed or if they are traveling separately.”  Yay!

You can find out more about this program here.

  1. Is there anywhere toget these besides Ranger station? They are closed weekends…

  2. It looks like they will be giving away the passes Fort Carson Exchange on 5 Nov 2012 from 10am to 2pm. You will need to have you CAC or family member card with you to get the pass. There is also a card being given out to individuals with disabilities. I am not quite sure of the requirements, but I bet it you e-mail the National Parks you could get an answer.

  3. Tommy Lemaire says:

I am a veteran of 5 years active with 20% disability. Do I qualify for this pass also.
