(CANCELLED) Cattle Drive Downtown This Friday Noon

Update: this event has been cancelled.  However, the rodeo is still going on an evacuees can get free tickets!

The Ride for the Brand Rodeo cattle drive will be this Friday, June 29th at noon – I think it will run down Tejon but I can’t find that positively anywhere.  They’ll also be doing branding and sorting at 1 PM on Saturday at the Norris Penrose events center, and that is free to the public as well.  General rodeo admission tickets are $10 (kids five and under are free, 6-11 are $5.00) and you can get more information here.

We went to the Pikes Peak or Bust rodeo a couple of years ago and had a great time!  (It’s coming up in July.)  I’m hoping to make it to the cattle drive for the Ride for the Brand rodeo this week – my oldest rotates his role-playing between army guys, George Washington, and cowboys, so I think it would be fun for him.  Of course, reading The Pioneer Woman makes me think the branding and sorting would be fun to watch, too!

  1. I wonder if they’ll be doing the part at the Norris Penrose Event Center since that was supposed to be an evacuation center for large animals.

    • I wondered that, too, but I haven’t seen any updates and I’m thinking that the rodeo is at the event center and the evacuation center is the “equestrian center” – not sure if those are one and the same or not. The rodeo’s Facebook page has mentioned stuff about the evacuations but didn’t indicate it was affecting their schedule at all.
