Great deals on cherries this week at Sunflower Market! Do any of you have a cherry pitter that you love? I’d love to stock the freezer with some cherries but frankly, the manual pitting of cherries is not worth it to me. :) But if you see me with purple fingernails over the next couple of weeks, you’ll know I tried anyway.
The last page of the ad seems to be missing this week – not sure what’s up with that but there aren’t usually any amazing deals on it anyway. :)
These deals are valid June 13 through June 20, 2012.
Don’t miss their double ad Wednesday deals that are valid through Wednesday, June 13!

Last year I bought a cherry pitted at Ace Hardware (about $10?).
I’ve also seen them at World Market. We froze many pounds of
cherries, and it was great to have them all through the winter.
I got my cherry pitter from Pampered Chef a few years ago. It works wonderfully, much better than the cheap one I used to have.
Carrie, I have two cherry pitters, and I would be happy to lend you one for a bit. My trees aren’t ripe yet, and I won’t need them for a few weeks. Let me know. (I got them both at Goodwill or ARC, so I don’t know where you’d be able to get one like either of them.)
Oh, you are sweet. :) Well, I guess I’ll see how the cherries taste and then if I buy a bunch, I’ll probably just end up buying one so that I can actually do it every year!
organic rolled oats are $1.10 a pound if you buy a 2 or 4 lb. bag at natural grocers… i’m almost positive. the more you buy, the cheaper per pound (by like 10 cents/lb.). not sure about steel cut. 99 cents is definitely a little cheaper than natural grocers standard price. whole foods puts organic rolled oats on sale semi-regularly at 99 cents a pound, too.
Thanks, Lexee!
yeah! and i just got back from natural grocers… a 4 pound bag of organic rolled oats is $4.10, and the 2 lb. bag is $2.10. so $1.03 – $1.05 a pound. and whole foods regular price is definitely more… i think i saw like $1.39 a pound!
by far, though, natural grocers is the place to buy bulk items like nuts, seeds, herbs, spices, beans and they have the best price on organic popcorn kernels i’ve seen!
speaking of beans, does anyone know any good places to buy bulk dry beans other than the bins at sunflower, whole foods, or natural grocers? even if it’s an online store… we just go through so much that surely there’s a better deal out there!
If you don’t care if they’re organic or not, Sam’s has good prices on pinto beans.
Have you looked in Azure Standard? It’s a co-op and I think they have been delivering in the Springs for awhile now. I haven’t ever done it, but I remember looking into it and thinking their beans (organic?) seemed like a great deal.
Lexee, if you can store them at home, you can purchase through the LDS cannery (I am not LDS and they allow me to purchase). I think a 25 lb. bag is about $17.

That’s the order form – there is a location on the south side of C. Springs.
They also sell #10 cans of beans, and I think pouches too. The price is best on the big bags, though. Hope that helps!
Yes, like Lexee said the price at natural grocers has gone up. Last sale they had I believe brought the rolled oats to $1.47 for 2 lbs… Or maybe it was $1.67, I don’t recall! Their sale price was def better than $.99/lb though and it comes around fairly regularly.
