JCPenney: Free Kids’ Haircuts In August

Update: JCP is now offering kids’ eyeglasses for $25 this month, too!

I just got a text from JCP that said this:

Visit or call your JCP salon to book early for free kids’ haircuts (K-6th) in August!

It kind of sounds like they’ll be doing them all month long, but even if they are, I’m sure they’ll fill up early!  You can get phone numbers for the JCP salons on their website – click on Find A Location and then check the box to find a location with a salon.

  1. Does anyone know approximately what they charge, so I can figure the tip? Thanks!

  2. usually around 14 for kids- and they are comission based so they only make money if they charge- i would give $5

  3. Jillian says:

Thanks so much, I got their appointments scheduled:)

  4. Frances says:

It’s set for all month long. JC did some big chenges and this also went to the salon. My main person left because they stopped the comission process.

  5. Got my daughter’s haircut today. I was really impressed at how the stylist took her time to get it done right. (You kind of wonder how good a free haircut will be…) They also gave me a coupon that entitles an adult to some feebies on his/her next hair appointment. And yes, the regular kid haircut price is $14.

  6. Went to get my daughters hair done at the citadel mall one and they have the eyeglass place there. Did you kow they have glasses for $25 for all kids up to age 16 this month? Neither did I. My other daughter needed new ones so we scheduled the apponiment. With the eye exam and the glasses it was only $64. That included lenses. What an awesome deal. You can pick frames up to $120.00. The eye exam was very good. She checked everything.

    • I just found out about the $25 glasses over the weekend! Will be posting it soon. :) Glad you were able to get such a great deal!

      • It was a total blessing because even though we have awesome vision insurance the glasses are always around $100. No matter how cheap the frames are that we pick. By the way they said about 3 to 4 weeks for the glasses to get done and I just got a call that they were done. Yeah. They look so cute on her.

  7. Wendy Boone says:

My girls (7&10) both got their cuts today…they also got washed…our stylist was Emily and she did a fabulous job! No strings attached and I too left tip…$5ea

  8. I took both of my kids to Chapel Hills today and I was not impressed.

The woman was terrible. She had an attitude right off and she was raking the comb through my daughters hair to the point she was in tears. She then proceeded to tell me that she is sick of all the parents who bring their kids in for these free haircuts. That they talk ugly to their kids, spend time on their cell phones and some of the kids have black eyes and the parents couldn’t be bothered with them. No less she probably was cursing me for having some snarls in my daughters hair so that is why she felt she needed to rip through her hair.
My sons experience was better than my daughters. I fully planned on tipping $5 each but felt compelled to only leave her $5. I won’t be going back, free or not.
