The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is this week and it will kick off this Tuesday night with the rodeo parade in downtown Colorado Springs! The parade begins at 6:30 – get there early for the prime curbside viewing spots – and runs south on Tejon from St. Vrain to Vermijo. (Or, if you don’t want to get there early, it seems like there are usually more open spots in the latter half of the parade route… Plus, the parade starts later when you’re further down the route.)
If you want to experience the rodeo but don’t want to pay for tickets, it looks like you can attend the “timed event slack” for free in the mornings! Go here for more info (scroll down for info on the slack).
I think we are going to try to attend the rodeo this year (my oldest wants to do the mutton bustin’!) but we will definitely be buying our tickets at the gate to avoid service fees!

This year they are selling tickets on the Pikes Peak or Bust website, with no fees. No need to wait till you get there anymore!
