Things To Do In Colorado Springs On The 4th Of July

There may not be any fireworks shows for 4th of July this year, but there are still plenty of ways to celebrate the 4th of July in Colorado Springs!

Things To Do

Rock Ledge Ranch, at the foot of the Garden of the Gods, will be having their annual old fashioned 4th of July, with appearances from George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, plus music, wagon rides, carnival games, and more. Admission to the ranch is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for students (6-17), and five and under are free. Find out more on their website.

Woodland Park will be having their Symphony Above The Clouds concert at 5:30 PM on Thursday, July 5th! (Gates open at 5 PM.) The concert features the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and Ceol Ceili, an Irish folk music group. It’s free! Get more info here.

If you are military, the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center in Woodland Park is offering 50% off for military on the 4th of July.

There will be a free benefit concert at the World Arena on July 4th, however, all tickets have been distributed for this event. The website says that “limited seats may become available for walk-up attendees.” Read more here.

The Little Red Wagon Sidewalk Parade will be held in Manitou Springs at 12:30 PM. Their Facebook event page doesn’t list many details; anyone know exactly what this entails?

Note: Palmer Lake and Monument have cancelled all their events for the 4th of July. Previously, the fireworks were off but they were still going to do the parade, carnival, and live music, but that is now all off per their websites.

Remember that because of the Waldo Canyon Fire, it’s a good idea to confirm that roads/parks are open before you head out (I think I heard that Gold Camp and Old Stage Roads were closed, so that could affect some hikes and campgrounds). And please please please obey the current fire restrictions!

  1. Amy in WP says:

The Woodland Park-Symphony above the Clouds is actually on July 5th! We get the COS Philharmonic the day after July 4th. BUT, WP does have an Old Fashioned 4th of July at Memorial Park (in WP-Park & Henrietta) from 9-3. Games, balloons, old-fashioned stuff. It’s the biggest day in WP. Fishing contest starts at 7 or 8, and Ranger Jeff Wolin will be singing at 8AM songs about our national treasures.

  2. Hillside Gardens and Nursery (via Facebook):

    Celebrate the 4th at Hillside!

We can’t think of a better place for a 4th of July Party!
6:30 Local favorite, John Stone will play (he always draws a crowd so be ready to dance)
    Delicious refreshments and food available.
    Bring the Whole Family!

  3. Fountain is having a town square festival with vendors, music, dancing, and family activities. 5-10pm. In front of the courthouse on Main Street.
