Barnes and Noble offers a 20% discount on select products to members of their educator program! Homeschooling parents can get the teacher discount with the following information:
- Photo ID
- Letter with the family name and address, name of homeschooling parent(s), and the grade level of each child being homeschooled
The discount offers 20% off the “publisher’s list price on select items that we consider suitable for use in the classroom or with the student population, including most hardcover and paperback books, toys, and games.”
You will also need to fill out an application – download a PDF here or it’s also available in-store. In order to get your educator discount card, you have to sign up in-store.

Thanks for telling us about this – just this morning I spoke with a homeschooler who asked for the teacher discount card and was told that it was only for certified teachers. She asked for the manager, who of course, gave her the discount. I have cards from businesses all over town – Joann’s, Staples, etc. They are very happy to have homeschoolers’ business!
