We went to Cheddar’s today after church and the manager said that this whole email club thing is a fraud. In fact, they posted a notice on their front door stating that they would no longer accept the “coupons” because the email was fraudulent. However, the manager did honor our coupon because we arrived prior to the notice being posted on the door. They suspect that it was posted by a former “disgruntled” employee. CRAZY stuff!! =(

Yes, Carrie, it was in Colorado Springs. The server was the first person to let us know that the “coupon/email” was a fraud. Shortly thereafter, the manager stopped by our table and confirmed that fact. Like I said earlier, they did honor the coupon and brought us free chips and queso. However, the people that came in after us were out of luck as the manager posted a sign on the front door stating that they would NOT honor the fraudulent coupons. They suspect that the reason it looked so legitimate is because a former, disgruntled, employee who had full access to the web site, logo, etc., was the one who posted the hoax. Such a SAD situation for sure!! =(
We went there tonight and tried to use it, they told us about the whole fraudulent coupon thing. I am reluctant to believe that considering there is no news of it anywhere online when you search for it. The manager said he would honor it but they never brought out the chips and queso. This was our first time at Cheddars and while the food was good, the service left much to be desired. They weren’t very understanding about the whole coupon thing either and made us feel rather stupid.
