There’s a new barbecue joint coming to town: Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is opening a Colorado Springs location this Thursday, September 13th, and the first 100 customers get a free pulled pork sandwich! They open at 11 AM and their new Colorado Springs restaurant is located at 1466 Garden of the Gods Road.

I looooove Dickey’s. We go to the ones in Denver all the time. :)
Is Dickey’s Texas-style barbecue? I’m not a big fan of Oklahoma-style, but we love Texas barbecue!
Yes it is, and they have Kids Eat Free on Sundays! At least the Denver-area ones do. Hopefully they will do that here too. :) Pair that with their daily special (on Sunday, it’s the pulled pork plate for $6.99), and a family of four can eat for $20, including drinks!
We ate there on Sunday and discovered that although they do have the Kids Eat Free deals that day, this particular restaurant does NOT have daily specials. Bummer! They also do not have the serve-yourself sides bar… they dish it out for you. Which is not a problem if you don’t want large portions of side dish. :) There was a short line when we got there, and it took a long time to get served. Part of it I attribute to the newness and that they’re still getting their feet under them, but their method of serving meat is not efficient. It all tastes great and is super-fresh though!
Thanks for the update! We’ll have to try it soon… We love Rudy’s but they don’t have a kids eat free deal. :)
