Rock Ledge Ranch Harvest Festival, Pumpkin Weigh-Off Coming Up Next Month

Here’s a couple of fun fall events that are coming up in October in Colorado Springs:

The annual Harvest Festival at Rock Ledge Ranch will be on Saturday, October 6th.  They have lots of fun things to do, like a pumpkin patch, live music, pony and wagon rides, a candy scramble, and more.  Admission to the ranch itself is free, but many of the activities do cost a little.  (In the past, you could buy tickets for $0.25 each and then each activity required a certain number of tickets.)

We’ve been to this event before and it was really fun to see the ranch and the costumed historical characters, even though we didn’t do many of the “official” activities.  You can find out more on the Rock Ledge Ranch Harvest Festival here.

Later in October is a great event in Old Colorado City: the annual Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off will be Saturday, October 20th from 10 AM to 6 PM.  Pumpkin gardeners  bring their giant pumpkins and gourds to be weighed at the Old Town Plaza and you can watch and get your picture with the huge pumpkins.  Old Colorado City also usually has their Scarecrow Festival with dozens of Scarecrows lining the street at this same time.

Find out more about the pumpkin weigh-off here.  We went to this event several years ago, and I’m hoping to go again since I’m sure my kids probably don’t remember it (and we’ve had three new babies since)!

  1. Just a friendly reminder that the ranch will be open for this event. It is one of our largest events every year. Bundle warmly, bring a few dollars for hot cider and prepare to have a great time!
