I am happy to see honey on sale again this week, even though Walgreens runs this deal quite often. I use it when baking bread and $4.99 for a 32 oz bottle is actually a pretty good deal. And, I’m also eager to pick up some free Blistex. You can never have enough lip moisturizer here in Colorado.
The new Balance Rewards points program is beginning at Walgreens this week. You will see some items listed that will earn you extra points on their new Balance Rewards card this week. Here is a breakdown on the point value:
5,000 pts = $5
10,000 pts = $10
18,000 pts = $20
30,000 pts = $35
40,000 pts = $50
As you can see, if you save up your points until you have more, they are worth more money per point. You do have to have at least 5,000 points to redeem them.
They basically don’t expire, though, as long as you shop using your Balance Rewards card at Walgreens at least once every since months.
Be sure to read “Walgreens Coupon Policy and FAQ” if you are a new Walgreens shopper, or even if you aren’t sure that you’re making the most of your shopping experiences!
These deals are valid September 16 – 22, 2012.

So will we still get RR printed out on the items with RR, or will they become balance rewards that accumulate? Thanks.
I believe that, at least for now, they are still doing Register Rewards as usual. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did combine them at some point, though! Which I, personally, would love because I don’t get in to Walgreens enough to do the RR deals.

It took a bit of time to digest….
I don’t know if this has been mentioned or not, but I was told today by a Walgreens employee that at the end of the month, you will actually NEED to have a rewards card to get the sale price on items. It will work the same way King Soopers and Safeway cards work except that you get bonus points on top of savings.
I wondered about that – haven’t heard anything but I wouldn’t be surprised.
Hmmm… I signed up online, then at WAGS today they said as long as my phone number gets inputed I get the credit. I can’t say if it worked because their system was as up and down as the Dow — and it may take 24 hours to post. Another employee said the servers weren’t handling the overload and wasn’t exactly complimentary about it.
I put my phone number in instead of having them scan the card and it worked just fine. I hope you get your points.
I went to wags today and got the brachs autumn mix for .25c after that 1.50Q that has been out and in ad Q. I also got the mitchum as a .75 MM. You have to use the .75Q and pay 1.25 oop. Then you get 2000 pts on your card. which equals 2.00. I also got the pecan sandies for .50. They are on sale for .99 and there was a Q in the insert recently for 1.00 off any 2. Sorry I dont have which insert.
not sure if you are going to have a dollar tree topic but i got free efferdent, free jennie o bacon, free mabeline lipstick, and free sally hansen nail polish. I got 12 red barron personal pizzas for .50 apiece, and ludens for .50. I was suprised that they would only take 2 coupons at a time so i had to do a bunch of different transactions. Call before you go to make sure they have what you want.
I’ll do Dollar Tree deals if people send them in, but since the deals vary by location, like you said, it’s not something I can really plan to cover regularly.
So, do you get the Balance Rewards card in the store, like a grocery store card? Or do I have to get it online before I go?
I registered on line and next time I was in store they told me they could give me a card if i wanted one but it is not needed. You just key in your phone number on the key pad and they credit your balance rewards account.
