How To Homeschool For Free just posted info on various ways you can get the classic McGuffey Readers for free! You can print them for free on Google Books or download them for free for Kindle (or using the Kindle app for your iPhone or computer).
I downloaded them on my iPhone using the Kindle app, but as is the case with some books that weren’t exactly designed for Kindle, it breaks the paragraphs funny and also removed the illustrations so I found it very difficult to read on the iPhone. But, the Google Books PDFs you can download are basically copies of the original book, so there’s no weird formatting.
Anyway, go here to find out how to download the readers. I think I am going to print some and have my second grader use them for reading-aloud practice since there’s not money in the budget for me to purchase the next All About Reading readers right now!
