Comments

  1. just checked the hard copy ad in today’s paper – the Barilla pasta is actually 88 cents – don’t know if that changes the rating or not…

  2. Thanks for all your hard work, as always, Carrie & others! It’s a ritural for me, and many others I’m sure, to check the site multiple times a day but especially Wednesday morning for the grocery matchups. I love it!

What’s a good price this year for Halloween candy? I think Safeway has Hershey’s, Mars, and Nestle bags for $2 each wyb 4 – with coupons, I would say around $1.50 at best, is this the best we are going to see?

    • Yeah, $1.50 a bag would be good – King Soopers had that price a couple of weeks ago, but I didn’t see it advertised this week.

Thanks for being a faithful reader! :) I appreciate it!

  3. I have a question about the coupons we load to our store cards (Soopers and Safeway). Do the loaded coupons get doubled if they are of a price that would normally be doubled or rounded up to $1 off? Also, can you combine a manufacturer’s coupon for the same item you have an ecard coupon for?

    • No, the ecoupons (at either store) don’t double.

At King Soopers, all of their ecoupons are manufacturer’s coupons, so they can’t be used with a paper manufacturer’s coupon. At Safeway, it’s more complicated: basically, if it’s a coupon that it is in their ad (which are store coupons), then you can use it with a paper coupon. If it’s not a store coupon (and it probably won’t be if it isn’t in their ad), you can’t.

You can tell the Safeway store in-ad coupons pretty easily because they are usually for a certain price (ie, Barilla for $0.88) versus a discount (ie, $1.00 off Barilla).

  4. I don’t understand why ground beef is so expensive out here! Back home, $1.99 is an every day price, and out here, I’m practically salivating to get some! I’ve even paid $3 a lb!

    • It may not be that cheap anymore – feed prices have gone up a LOT lately so the price of feed is rising. We used to see that price a lot more here, too.

  5. The Campbell’s Naturals Soup is currently $1.52 at Target. so it would be only $0.52 with the coupon.

    • Because the $1/1 Campbell’s Natural Soup is a Safeway ecoupon you can only load it to your safeway card and use it at Safeway. Therefore, no you cannot use it to buy the soup at target but there are other manufacture coupons you could use at Target. :)

  6. There will be a coupon for $1/2 for Barilla pasta this Sunday! $.38 each!

  7. I just used the Real California Cheese product coupon with the 32 oz chunk cheese and it didn’t beep! It’s always beeped for me in the past. Maybe it won’t from here on out??? That would be nice!
