Albertsons Weekly: Malt O Meal Cereal for $0.67 + Good Deals on Beef, Eggs, and More

Albertsons has great deals on Malt O Meal cereal, 85% lean ground beef, French’s Worcestershire sauce, and more this week! They also have their beef roasts marked to 50% off, which could be a great deal provided their regular retail price isn’t too inflated.

Oh!  And a dozen eggs for $1.00.  I just paid $1.99 for a dozen at King Soopers – yikes!

  1. Carrie – I can’t believe you paid $1.99 for eggs! lol

I’m stopping by Albs Sat to pick up some roast (if it seems a good deal). Can’t beat it in the crockpot with potatos, celery, carrots, onion, pack of brown gravy, or mush soup, or whatever you have or want.

    • I know, crazy! I need to get to Walmart and pricematch Albertsons price on eggs this week. I haven’t been to EITHER Walmart or Albertsons in ages but I may brave Walmart just for the eggs, haha. (I’d probably rather go to Albertsons, but what are the odds that they will actually have eggs in stock?)

      • I usually find that they are pretty well stocked on eggs. I have never had a problem with them being out before. Good luck!

      • I also have never had a problem buying the “on sale” eggs at Albertsons… they are always well stocked at GOG Albies.

        • Yeah, but what happens when I go in and they have a “limit 2″ sign up? Too many unknowns for me to shop at Albertsons these days. :)

          • I was just at Albertsons this morning…they had a ton of eggs…and no limit! I bought three dozen without an issue.

            • Lucky you!
These are “loss leaders” that they are seling below cost to get you in the door. I’m heading to Wally World where they don’t mind price matching and won’t hit me with a limit — based on the cashier.

  2. No matter what – I can’t “brave” Walmart! Husband likes it – I make him a list. I would rather stay in the car if I have to go along.

Sometimes there is no time to travel around if you need something.

  3. The Malt O coupon that printed for me was $1.50 on three (not $1 on 3). WOOHOO!

  4. liz (lemon tree) says:

I went to the Albertsons last night on centennial and got the earthbound farm broccoli, cauliflower, carrots w\ the Q from their website. The produce actually looked really good- I also got the .99 eggplants, savoy cabbage and there was fresh express for 1.00. There is a Q in their monthly for 2.00 off fresh express blends. I also got the crystalized ginger that is 2.99. It is in the endcap facing the deli\dairy. This is a really good thing to get if you know someone with a cold or sore throat. It really helps with throat pain. They also have bogo on the faux crab. I make a crab remoulade just by mixing a little thousand island dressing with it and add a little celery and green onion if you have it. This is really good if you want a fancy holiday salad. You dont have to cook it either. If you are making it for a party just add grated beats and or mandarin oranges around the perimeter of the platter to make it really pretty.

  5. Gah – so I went to Walmart last night to pricematch the eggs and pick up a few other things. That was a mistake – should have listened to you guys! THEY were out of eggs (and the other things I wanted – headbang!).

I went to Albies and like you said, they had a TON of eggs – enough that I didn’t feel bad buying seven dozen. I was pleasantly surprised!

    • Out of curiosity, do you guys just eat lots of eggs or are you doing something special with them? It would take us more than 4 months to eat 7 dozen eggs, but they are just a weekend breakfast treat for us. :)

      • Haha. I guess we use them a fair amount – I’ll make a couple of breakfast casseroles with them, Jeremy eats them for breakfast sometimes. I will probably use some to make pasta for lasagna at Christmas. Plus, I’m working on some recipes for the chapter on eggs in my new cookbook so a couple of dozen will go to that. :)

But it sounds like that we probably use A LOT more eggs than you! I would guess that we probably average 1 dozen a week.

        • If I could make yummy things with eggs, I would use a lot more things with them too! Plus we have a few fewer children too, which reduces our everything consumption. I will definitely be checking out the egg chapter in your book!
