Free LED Christmas Lights When You Trade In Old Ones

You can take up to two old strings of Christmas lights to Colorado Springs Utilities and get two LED strings for free! The trade-in event is Saturday, December 1st from 8 AM to noon and takes place at their location at 2855 Mesa Road.

You can also bring up to 16 incandescent bulbs to trade for CFL bulbs. Mark your calendar for Saturday, December 1st!

Also, if you’ve purchased a new furnace, wash or dryer, refrigerator, water heater, or other similar appliance this year, make sure you check to see if you can get a rebate from CS Utilities – the deadline to submit is December 31st, and you can find out more here.

  1. Laura at TenThingsFarm says:

I don’t think the link is working properly. I wanted to ask – is this for people who are on CS utilities only, or anyone? (We live out in the county, so I don’t know if this offer is open to us.)

    • Whoops, sorry – I fixed the link.

The rebate offer is only for CS Utilities customers (it comes as a credit on your utility bill). I believe the lights are, too, but it didn’t say specifically that I saw.

  2. You have to be a Colorado Springs Utilites customer. They require you show a copy of your bill in order to participate in this.

  3. Meant to share this last week… not sure if it’s still going on now but the Dollar Tree on Academy/Austin Bluffs was having a great deal on CFLs courtesy of Colorado Springs Utilities.
You could get a 4 pack of CFL lightbulbs for $1 if you spent $10. There was a limit of 3 4-packs per $10 (I was getting a lot so I actually did 2 transactions and got 24 CFLs for $6!) Woohoo!

  4. Don’t forget there are $75 rebates on toilets also, you can get a toilet almost free, if you need one :-)

  5. they ran out quick! We were there at 9:30, and the strings of lights were all gone :(
