Well, how was your weekend? Mine was full of exciting happenings…

Like washing my shower curtain and liner in the washing machine…

And cleaning the top of the refrigerator. That grey stuff in the back is dust. :)

And I finally did something I’ve been thinking of doing for awhile – after I cleaned the top of the refrigerator, I put some pieces of butcher paper and taped them down so that it isn’t so difficult to clean (I hate greasy dust!).
While I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile, I was finally motivated to actually do it because, Lord-willing, we are planning to sell our home and move to a little bit bigger place sometime this year, and my Realtor is going to want the dust off my refrigerator. :) I’m thinking that I will keep the paper up there until we are ready to put it on the market, then I’ll rip it off and hopefully it will be sparkling clean with little effort.
It would look a lot better if the paper blended in more with the refrigerator, but I can’t even see it unless I’m standing on a chair, and Jeremy might be able to see it standing up (he’s 6’3″) but he hasn’t said anything about it so it must not look too bad.
Jeremy helped with our church’s youth retreat over the weekend so the kids and I watched Pollyana and ate our free pizza from Papa John’s. Oh, and drank some Dr. Pepper. We lived it up. :)
I also got a lot of work done on From Garbage to Gourmet, and am planning to launch it during the first week of March. I even got a Coming Soon page up for it! I’m really excited about how it’s coming together, and the more I work on it, the more I feel like it really will help you “prevent waste” and show you how to “create delicious food out of things you normally throw away”.
At the same time, I will be very glad when it is done. Trying to work on the project this weekend reminded me of what my life was like a couple of years ago: constantly working on the computer, getting behind on housework, and ever impatient with the kids. Sometime I’ll have to tell you the story (story is probably overstating it; it’s not that exciting!) of how I was able to change those habits because whenever I have one of those days I am so thankful that God showed me that I did not want to spend my life like that!

I wonder if press-n-seal plastic wrap would work easier for the top of the frig.
I wondered that, too! I don’t have any or I might have tried it.
Oh, do please tell your “story” how God changed things for you. Please! I know I could use some encouragement.
I echo that request. I would love to hear some perspective from another stay-at-home mom who works from home on the side of homeschooling! Have a bit of an unbalance here myself.
I will try to share soon! I’ve been mulling it over for awhile.
I would love to hear your story too! I work from home for my husband’s business, and I constantly feel like I can never be a good mom, a good employee and a good housewife all at the same time. I usually feel like I am terrible at all of them at once.
I was thinking the other day, you used to post all the time about swag bucks, but never do anymore. Do you still use it at all? It seems to me they got really stingy with the bucks and their search going very down hill…
Yeah, I stopped posting about them a couple of years ago – mostly because it became not as good of a deal for the user, and they changed things in their blogger program that made it so it felt like they were competing with me rather than complementing. (It’s gotten even more that way, which might be why you see other bloggers posting about it less lately, too.)
