Daily Chatter: 2/21/13

Well, my library fine finally showed up in my account so I paid it so they didn’t send me to collections.  I’m still praying that we find the book; I’d sure like to get part of my $25.00 back!

I should have known better than to recommend a book that I had checked out from the library until after I was done with it and returned it.  My Loving the Little Years book is overdue now and there are holds so I can’t renew it. :P

making-homemade-lasagna

Earlier this week, I made lasagna with the help of a few of my kiddos. Jeremy has a strong dislike of lasagna but I’ve found a way to make it that he loves, so it’s family favorite now. (I’ll share the recipe sometime, but it’s a lot of work, LOL.) We made two pans and froze one for later.

cinnamon-raisin-bread

Yesterday, I made Cinnamon Raisin Bread with the Buttermilk Bread Dough from Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day. It was delicious, and I’m not sure the three loaves I made are going to last through today! I need to get back into the habit of making the bread dough, but it’s gotten harder to make room for a big bowl of dough in my refrigerator.

Last night I told Jeremy that I don’t enjoy the snow as much as I used to. I have all of these grand visions of just sitting around and enjoying the snow but these kids of mine don’t seem to appreciate a good snow in the same way that I do. They just keep yelling and carrying on as if nothing ever happened, and I can’t sit around and enjoy the peace and quiet that snow used to symbolize to me. :)

Today we are doing school (no school days for homeschoolers!) and I’m working hard on From Garbage to Gourmet.  I am getting so excited; it’s a couple of weeks from being done and I feel like I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.  I’ll keep you posted, but you won’t want to miss the two-day sale when it debuts in March!

  1. My daughter is not quite old enough to understand the snow day concept (plus, we almost never have the tv on), so she is happily working at schoolwork today too! We did go out this morning for a little snow adventure and it was fun for a few minutes, then she got cold. :)

have a great day – stay warm!

Did you know if you call the library and tell them you can’t find it they will stop the fines. Just so you know for future reference that happened to us with a dvd. We found it and returned it and only owed $2 since we called and said it is lost. It was just in the wrong case. :)
