Well, the list of deals at King Soopers this week is not nearly as exciting as the Mega Event’s been, but I guess that’s understandable. :) They do have Original Cheerios for $0.99 a box after this printable coupon (a few more printables are listed below).
I’m sure some of you are wondering about the future of double coupons at King Soopers if you’ve heard that some Kroger regions in the midwest are discontinuing them. I haven’t heard anything from King Soopers corporate but I will let you know if I do!
These deals are valid February 6-12, 2013.

Noticed in the coupon database, that their was a coupon for the Zatarains in the RP from the 3rd. Didn’t find it in the insert. Where oh where could it be? :)
Also…could the database be wrong? I went on eBay to buy the Zatarain’s Coupon from the 3rd and only found $0.50 off TWO, not one. The printable is $0.50 off one thou!
Ooppss! The printable was $.50 off THREE not ONE! FYI! That would make it $.66 each after coupon.
According to our records we didn’t get that coupon in Colorado; that’s why I didn’t include it. :)
Redplum had printable last week for .50 off two, for the Zaterians.

Oh! I see! My grandma sends me coupons from Vegas! You wouldn’t believe the coupons I get that we don’t get here! Not to mention the values of the coupons are higher! :)
Yeah, but I wouldn’t trade higher grocery prices for better coupons. ;)
I have a question mostly unrelated to this post, other than it happened to me while I was at King Soopers last week. What do you do when you see someone clearing the shelves? I was looking at my coupons to figure out how many reach floss I wanted last week, and a woman came up and started taking them all off the shelves. I had to interrrupt her in order to get a few for me before she took them all. I didn’t know what to say, so I just didn’t say anything, but I kind of wish I had. What would you do if you were in a similar situation?
I was in the same situation. I caught a shelf clearer and never said anything, it’s bothered me since then and I promised myself to say something next time. I think maybe something along the lines of “it would be considerate to leave some for other shoppers” that way your not being rude but letting them know what they are doing is extremely selfish and obviously not appreciated.
I don’t know. It’s hard to say if someone is being a shelf-clearer or not, and I’d hate to make the wrong call. :/ The other day I was at King Soopers for the last day of the Mega Event and wanted to stock up on pasta. *I* knew that I’d only bought about 10 packages in the previous two weeks, but I really wanted some shells so I did end up taking all but one (for a total of ten) packages of the shells (they were already mostly cleared out) and ten assorted packages of others (I didn’t come close to clearing those out, though). I had the thought that I might have looked like a shelf-clearer, even though I didn’t really feel like I was clearing the shelf of EVERYTHING they had. Plus, when it’s a Buy 10 event, it’s hard to argue that you shouldn’t buy ten of a certain item.
However, if we’re talking about dental floss… Who could possibly go through a ton of dental floss quickly so that they’d need or want to clear the shelf?! People actually use that stuff?! ;) Actually, it was a moneymaker with coupons and catalina, wasn’t it? So it’s possible they were trying to “make money” which definitely brings out the shelf-clearers.
Anyway, all that to say that I don’t know what I’d do, because while I think I might be able to spot a shelf-clearer, I’d be afraid of calling someone out and then find out that they have ten kids at home and actually might legitimately use whatever they are buying in a reasonable amount of time.
Dental floss has another great use for something other than teeth…………After 4 girls I have made alot of fabric ruffles. It is much faster and more reliable to zigzag a stitch over the dental floss and then pull on the floss to gather the ruffle. Not to ever justify shelf clearing but just an FYI. Thanks!
Ooh – well, I don’t plan on sewing any ruffles but I AM having trouble finding my white thread to mend some buttons. Aha! ;)
Great tip! I use dental floss in the kitchen when I make cinnamon rolls. Lay the rolled dough over the floss, criss-cross the floss to cut the dough. Much cleaner & quicker than a knife!
That said, I was pretty miffed to not be able to buy any floss this last time around with the shelves having been cleaned out. I don’t think King Soopers would give a rain check on an item in the B 10 G 5, unless I was planning to buy 10 – nope, just needed two!
I got rain checks for the buy 10 save 5…on M & M’s, the Mom’s cereal, the pasta, the floss, and one other thing…the front end manager said they would give me the sale price:) whoohooo
Nice! It’s been awhile since I’ve requested a rain check on a Mega Event, but depending on the cashier/manager, they are usually *pretty* good about not making you have to buy ten.
As someone who works at king soopers, I know that this is one of the reason king soopers has a limit on how many coupons you can use. This is their way of stopping a shelf clearer. Although not all associates will stop a coupon abuser, It is important that they do for this very reason.
I sure hope they don’t discontinue doubling coupons! That is one of the main reasons I have made them my primary grocery store. I did notice something new (or at least new to me): they offer “Personal Prices” on items-similar to personalized coupons. I get emails letting me know about a few items that I can load to my card and receive that price until a certain date. For instance, any package of Farmland bacon I purchase will ring up at the price of $2.79 until the end of February. Perhaps they are moving more into personalized savings instead. Has anyone else gotten these emails? It seems to pick several items I have purchased in the past more than once and then gives me a good price on them-good even without additional coupons.
I get those emails pretty frequently. Most of the time they’re pretty good! And you can still use paper coupons with them which is super awesome! Currently I get Yoplaits for 29 cents and then if you use the paper coupons it ends up being like 15 cents a cup- whoot! I hope they keep doubling coupons though too.
I got the Sobe drinks for 59 cents as one of my personalized deals. They were in the buy 10 get 5 sale, so they ended up costing me 9 cents apiece! Hopefully there will be more personalized deals that match up with their sales.
according to KS facebook page, they are not planning to discontinue the doubling. It’s just Kroger Cincinatti (Sp?)
I have also received the personalized price coupons. I think they are great because you get a lower price on a few items you buy all the time and then get to use coupons on top of that if they are available. Granted, it’s only on four things but I still appreciate it. I like King Soopers a lot. I find that the one on Union and Briargate has the best management and the friendliest cashiers as far as using coupons go. On clearing shelves, I had to do it during the second week of their last mega event on the hefty one zips because they only had like 8 left and the week before they didn’t have any. In those cases, I don’t mind taking what’s left. Also, don’t forget that you can ask for a rain check on an item that is gone and then get as many as you need when they re-stock.
The absolute worst for cleared shelves is Walgreens. I don’t know who’s going around and hitting them all but that’s what it seems like. It’s ruined shopping there for me. I hardly EVER find what is supposed to be a great deal. THAT is selfish. I’m also not a fan of their new point system. It was already confusing to shop there. Now it’s just downright annoying.
I’m not a fan of shopping at Walgreens, either. You have to get there on Sunday morning to get any of the deals. I think that it’s mostly because they don’t keep very much in stock, so once people buy the 5-10 that’s on the shelf, that’s all they’ll have for the week. I’m not sure that I’ve ever been able to actually get their diaper deals without a raincheck! It’s tricky, though, because the RARE time that I find the great deal, I think, “Well, since I NEVER get to get the great deals here, is it OK for me to buy four packages of diapers even though that means there are only two left?” Because four packages of diapers is not excessive IMO but I also know that they only have about six in stock.
FYI- My housemate bought the svenhards pastries at safeway a couple days ago and ate a couple before going to bed. When he woke up one of his eyes was severely swollen so he could barely see out of it. He didnt know it was the danish so he ate a couple more and withing half an hour his other eye was swollen up so it was impossible for him to do anything! It stayed swollen all day. I do not know what is in those that could cause such a major reaction but I am glad I didnt have to call the ambulance because his throat could have closed.
Yikes! I’ve eaten those before and thought they were fantastic!!! I wonder what it was that your roommate was reacting to! Does he have any known allergies?
no- he eats about everything with no problem- that is whats weird. Except once his face swelled up from eating cheese dip at applebees.
Sounds like he needs to make an appointment with an allergist stat for allergy testing. The general rule is that every allergic reaction is more severe than the one before, so next time it might be his throat that swells up. Yikes. We go to Storms Allergy Clinic and really like them. I’ve also heard good things about Pikes Peak Allergy and Asthma.
I just printed B1G1 coupons for Del Monte Southwestern style tomatoes from their site. I logged into my account at https://delmonte.icmodus.com/RegCrm.aspx.
I’m hoping that with the catalina and the 99 cent sale, it will make for some very cheap tomatoes. If I’m doing the math correctly, buy 4 at $.99 ($3.96), use 2 B1G1 (takes off $1.98), get $1.25 back = total $.74 for 4.
