When Safeway’s Just for U program first came out, they had some great freebies that you could load to your card, but frankly, I’d kind of forgotten about them until I got this from Alice recently:
I wanted to share with you that Safeway has freebies they offer through their website that you can load onto your Safeway club card. Usually they offer a couple of freebies per month, sometimes there is a new one every week. Today I got a free full size pack of corn tortillas, a free full size box of Hershey’s cookies n’ cream cereal, a free full size box of Chex vanilla flavored cereal and a free pound of Sweetango Apples (about 2 apples).
If you sign into Safeway’s website (you must have your Safeway club card registered to your online account to add all the online offers) you will scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the coupons link. Then you can click on the coupon center to add all your regular coupons but I usually find the freebie coupons by clicking on the ‘personalized deals’. There, they give you offers on items you regularly buy but also promotional items which are a lot of times free!
When I go to the store, I always put the items I am supposed to get for free where they are rung up last so I can make sure they do ring up correctly. In the past I’ve gotten items such as full size Jif Almond or Cashew butter (they cost $8.99!), can of Progresso recipe starters, Lipton iced tea single serve packets (a box of 6) and many others. It’s a great way to try new items as well as just get good full size freebies!
Thanks for the tip and detailed info, Alice! You can see all of Safeway’s deals this week here. (Don’t forget that today is their $5 Friday sale!)
