I just read that the tooth fairy is giving out an average of $3.70 a tooth these days. Jeremy and I are such cruel parents – our kids get nothing. I’m not about to pay for them losing something that they whined and cried so much about getting, you know?
A few weeks ago, I bought a new water bottle similar to this one (only I got mine at Target). It has totally helped me drink more water! I hate most water bottles and prefer drinking out of a straw (but it needs to feel like a straw, not like a rubber tube), and finally decided I might actually drink more water if I had the right bottle. Forget putting lemon or blueberries in water to get me to drink more, I just needed the right cup.
I got a letter from my grandpa last week and it made my day. (My grandparents sent birthday cards, but not usually letters, so it was an awesome surprise.) He is my remaining living grandparent, and I don’t think he’s aged a bit in the almost thirty years I’ve known him. I hope I got his genes!
Our renovations are going slowly – have I said this? I’ve determined that when you are doing a home improvement project, you should not just double your projected budget and projected time, but double it again if you are working on an old house, and double any time estimates from contractors, and if you are using multiple contractors, be sure to triple their time estimate because if something gets off schedule, then it puts everyone off schedule. :) We have some friends who are putting an addition on their home, and it’s been the same way for them, and he is a general contractor so it makes me feel good that it’s not just the fact that we are DIYing most of it. :)
We have totally underestimated how tedious it is to work on an old house. The picture above is of Jeremy shimming the floor in the bathroom, because of course it’s not level. I think I need to look into buying shims in bulk because we are using them crazy fast. I’m hoping to be able to share before/after pics soon!Join 6 other person in sharing your own random chat or comments
