Free Cooking Classes at Williams-Sonoma

Jennifer sent in this information for free cooking classes at Williams-Sonoma:

I wanted to let you know that Williams Sonoma at the Shops at Briargate does FREE technique classes. I found out about them soon after I moved to the springs this fall and they’re great. Yes, they are completely free. Requires zero purchase, just make sure you call/go by the store and let them know you want to attend so they can make sure there’s food for you, as most classes there is samples of whatever is made.

The classes are every Saturday at 9am and cover a range of topics, from seasonal cooking to knife skills, to international food. Last week covered eggs, so we learned how to make breakfast paninis, frittatas, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce. It’s all listed on their website but people rarely know of it, and I wanted to share the wealth.

While there are a plethora of wonderful paid classes in the springs, it’s a great resource for those of us looking to expand our knowledge. Oh, and you automatically get a 10% discount on anything in the store if you attend the class. If you have the time to go, why not? They even give you a nice pamphlet of all the recipes and techniques that they are showcasing during that class to keep so you can take notes and remember what you learned.

Thanks, Jennifer!  You can find out more about the classes and see the schedule here.

  1. Does your Briargate location still offer the classes on Saturdays? I checked online and called our local Denver stores, and they are all offered at 10am on Sundays. I’m trying to find classes on Saturdays. Thank you!

Yes it’s Saturday for the Williams Sonoma here. They don’t follow the corporate calender. In fact if you go in you can pick up a calendar page with all of their events for the month and see that they cross out by hand all Sunday times and write in Saturday ones.

  3. I have been looking for cooking classes and noticed your comment on classes in the springs. I have not been able to find any others. Do you have suggestions?

Chefs outlet store has cooking classes. Their classes vary in price depending on the cooking topic. Just google “cooking classes colorado springs” and look for the chefscatalog.com site.
